I think I finally figured out Pedro Pascal
This guy is everywhere. Everywhere. I think I finally figured out his appeal among the Hollywood casting gods and it’s not because he’s particularly talented or attractive. No.
He’s white but Hispanic so he can play the ethnic card while still landing white roles. He conveniently has a trans sister which apparently grants him expertise on all things queer, gender, and sexuality. Also, the guy just loves to loudly and frequently party.

Pedro Pascal is a perfect example of why gay actors stay in the closet. He would never have the huge career he has not if he'd been out.

Like 99% of SAG is unemployed. It's hard to get regular work, whether you're white, black, Latino, Asian..

He's a terrific actor. He has a great working reputation of being a professional. He's gradually become more sexy and handsome over the years. And he's really good at keeping secrets, (including his own?).

I don't blame him for capitalizing on this very small window of opportunity. His "it" factor is finite. I'm not sure his thespian talents will carry him very far once his looks fade. (Example: Antonio Banderas.) In the meantime, I enjoy his looks and his sexually ambiguous charm.

Coincidentally, they gave the Buffy episode today where he appears as a naive, dorky college freshman. He has a nice conversation with Buffy but then he gets killed, or transformed or something.

Please, Hollywood has become DEI central.
Both in front and behind the camera.
Hence why many TV/films are shit these days.
Being POC, trans, and having disabilities supersedes talent and hard work in "woke" Hollywood.

He's extremely likable in a way even Banderas was not. And it's impressed me that when he works out a lot for the right role (like in The Last of Us) he ups his hotness factor quite a bit.
Finally, he's aging naturally very well, in a way many other actors do not when they hit middle age.

R24 Let's se how much his "stardom" will last once "The Last of Us" ends its run.
Most probably will occur the same with the "Game of Thrones" guys like Kit Harrington and/or Richard Madden. They thought that they were going to be major Hollywood movie stars just becuase they starred in one of the most successful HBO series of all time, but they failed.

They will milk it for all its worth and I suspect, depending on box office, they have a few more movies in store.

Pascal will always be a steadily working actor. If he continues in the mode he's presently in, he'll continue to get quality projects, mostly for television, and continue to rack up industry nominations.
He seems to be at the height of his career at this moment, the only question is how long this period will last. Another 3 or 4 years easily, I suspect.

Pedro Pascal's character's arc ended in 2014 and he has 20+ credits to his name since then. Compared to the majority of the "Game of Thrones" cast he's crushing it.

He's done well many times before The Last of Us since Game of Thrones: Narcos, The Mandalorian, playing Edmund on Broadway. He's about to play Reed Ricahrds in the much anticipated and buzzed about Fantastic Four: First Steps. At this point, I really don't think you can call him a flash in the pan.

I think he’s fine but there’s a lack of imagination and creativity in Hollywood that leads to certain actors getting all the jobs at once. It’s his turn—in a year or two my guess is he’ll take a break to counteract the overexposure, and it will be someone else’s turn.

I mean...he's HOT to both men and women, charming and a little mysterious. Also? He's been at this for a minute. Definitely not an overnight sensation. I think the attention and work he's getting now are well deserved.

By anyone's standards his career is a huge success. To be getting high profile roles and media attention at 50 is impressive by anyone's standards.
But how much of the coverage he receives is about his acting? He's had a couple of really well received parts but most of the coverage I see is about his celebrity status. Maybe that's how things work now.

He has rugged good looks and an emotional readability that doesn’t interfere with his ability to seem beleivably tough. These are great characteristics for an actor to have.
and he has similar physicality to the video game character he plays.
Hes no less handsome than any number of leading men who have had long and successful Hollywood careers
There’s plenty of movies and tv still made by for and about attractive white peole r20 but even when they come along people like you have to turn the conversation to wokeness by commenting on how surprised oh are they *didnt* cast a POC. YOU are the one obsessed and over invested in this issue. Most of us can grasp the idea of common humanity and get past diversity in casting. YOU can’t. Seek help.

I think the Pedro Pascal bubble will burst one day, and it won't be pretty.
Based on GOT I like him a lot. He's a very good actor. He's outspoken about lgbt topics.
But recently he is so overexposed he is everywhere, from SNL to TV and movies and social media. It seems he can't seem to shut up, he has to fight with Rowling, film his sister in Cannes, be aggressively vocal about anything and everything. This kind of overly confident demeaner will rub people the wrong way and there inevitably will be a backlash. I can see it coming in his case.

Not going to lie.
I wasn't familiar with 'the game' so my interest was basically about the hype of the show and how popular the game was to many. I was aware of PP from GOT and Narcos, so that was also my reason for watching it. I was hooked from the first episode. I was aware of the loss of 'Joel' in season 2 and I gave it a shot after he was killed, but I don't have any interest in Ellie and Dina's adventure to avenge his death. Let's be honest: the best part of the show was the relationship between Joel and Ellie. I feel sorry for Bella Ramsey, although she knew the direction of the show, but it's just no longer interesting. There's already been an announcement for Season 3, but, just going by the gamers on Tik Tok who are fans of the game, they are hating the season as well. They think the show's plot is less about the game and more about the relationship between Ellie and Dina.

He's popular in Chile and I think in Latin America generally. If he can't get work in the U.S., I wouldn't be surprised to see him in a Spanish language film or tv show. He has wide appeal.
