From the French horns to the chimes Right down to that final sinister chord. John Williams best, no cap
I don’t know who needs to hear this but the Jurassic park theme still slaps

Sorry, it just reminds me of Tonya Harding’s Olympic short program at this point.

But is it a bop?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | May 18, 2025 2:15 AM |
Hmm. I prefer Robin Hood or the Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns.

One of the greatest sci-fil films of all time. Simply superb movie making.
And yes, the music is a major reason why. Here's a clip that demonstrates that well. From the very start of the scene to the moment when "Isla Nublar" (really Kauai) enters the picture at around 1:20 to the ride from the helicopter into the park to the moment when they see the Brachiosaurus to the iconic "Dr. Grant, my dear Dr. Satler, welcome... to Jurassic Park" the music is the star. This is why humans exist.

All of John Williams' compositions are stellar, OP.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | May 18, 2025 2:58 AM |
Why do you talk like that, OP?
by Anonymous | reply 8 | May 18, 2025 10:06 AM |
Aren't you just over the moon about OP's outtasite hep slang, r8? He's the ever-lovin' end!
by Anonymous | reply 9 | May 18, 2025 2:48 PM |
Is it a whole mood?
by Anonymous | reply 10 | May 18, 2025 2:56 PM |
Why does the Seacow always do this? he likes some uninteresting song, and then has to post attesting to it using stupid slang.

My favorite version of the " Jurassic Park" Theme. Start at 5:20. It's really amazing.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | May 19, 2025 7:27 AM |
Tonya Harding skated to the theme of Jurassic Park like a triceratops on ice.

I loved that it's the only song that DJ can play in the piano and 2 seasons later she's playing it on the church organ
by Anonymous | reply 15 | May 19, 2025 10:51 AM |
OP, at what point in life did you decide to talk like a 15-year-old girl?
by Anonymous | reply 16 | May 19, 2025 11:14 AM |
R16 Do you like the Jurassic park music or not
by Anonymous | reply 17 | May 19, 2025 11:27 AM |
Everyone loves John Williams, R17, but we don't speak retarded like miss OP
By the way.. Is OP SeaCow or mafukkin' Teafake? Or are they one and the same?

I hate the term "slaps".

Never heard the expression "slaps" before. Jonathan Williams' Jurrasic Park us a masterpiece. He is genius personified. He's Aaron Copeland for the new millennium. I wish he'd do a complete symphony.

Every John Williams score sounds like every other John Williams score. He did a few really great ones and since then has just coasted.
And when he tried to do more formal classical music, he's just kind of bland.
Most overrated composer in the history of overrated composers.

The same R18.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | May 19, 2025 2:48 PM |
R23 I think Williams has written some terrific non-film score pieces, like this Concerto he specifically composed with Yoyo Ma in mind.

Would you prefer I wrote something like “mark my word, I have had sufficient of these tedious tattoos” or some of the other tired maiden aunt phraseologies you queens turn to again and again and again?
by Anonymous | reply 26 | May 19, 2025 9:52 PM |
Did you know that there are lyrics? “At Jurassic Park, there’s no place to park/Oh, Jurassic Park’s for meee!”
by Anonymous | reply 27 | May 19, 2025 10:54 PM |
His score for “Valley of the Dolls” is more interesting.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | May 19, 2025 10:58 PM |
This moment from the Kennedy Center Honors is enough to cement Williams' place as a great composer.
