New Orleans,while a blast to party in,has always been a corrupt shithole. Back in the 70s-80s cops would grab a drunk person and threaten them with jail unless they made a 'contribution' to their charity. Of course the charity was themselves. Anyone who lived there knew to stay in the Quarter because if you wondered out and they grabbed you it might get expensive. I loved the time I spent there as I was a dedicated partier/whore but when I left I knew Id never live there again .

Jail is not prison. Jail is for minor offenses or to hold you while/until you get to trial.

Escaping from custody is a whole other huge offense on top of whatever they were accused of doing. At least wait until you are convicted, and are looking at a lengthy sentence before you try to escape. Don't do it over a 3-6 month stint.

I think some of the women involved were related to the cons. I expected a dumpy jail employee who was getting dicked down by at least one of them to be the culprit
