Prosecutor's audio shows Biden's memory lapses
Newly released audio of a special counsel interviewing then-President joe Biden confirms memory lapses that White House officials denied at the time.
Amid long, uncomfortable pauses, Joe Biden struggled to recall when his son died, when he left office as vice president, what year Donald Trump was elected or why he had classified documents he shouldn't have had, according to audio Axios obtained of his October 2023 interviews with special counsel Robert Hur.
Even after the transcript was released, Biden aides insisted that the president did not forget the year that his son Beau died of brain cancer. The audio shows that Biden struggled to remember the year and had to be prompted by his lawyers, who were sitting in the interview with him.

Sadly, Trump would do far worse in a deposition.
What’s wrong with us?

We proved, beyond a reasonable doubt, that Hur was lying last year. Stop trying to perpetuate this fraud, OP.

R3 You mean this is all AI and this audio of Biden speaking is fake?

Well, that seals it. I'm not voting for Joe Biden in the 2024 election!

Whatever MAGA troll started this thread - I don't want to hear diddly about Biden's memory lapses when each and every day we see that fucking orange buffoon ramble incoherently for the cameras. Biden is no longer president. I don't know what the fuck you hope to achieve here, other than to demonstrate that you're nothing more than a raging, willfully blind troll.
Do explain away Trump's Alcatraz rant, won't you? That's actual current, relevant news:
[quote] "Well, I guess I was supposed to be a movie maker, and we start with the movie making and it will end. I mean, it represents something very strong and very powerful in terms of law and order. Our country needs law and order. Alcatraz, I would say, is the ultimate, right? Alcatraz and Sing Sing and Alcatraz, uh, the movies, but uh, right now it's a museum. A lot of people go there, believe it or not. A lot of people go there. It has the, uh, most violent criminals in the world, and nobody ever escaped. One person almost got there, but they, as you know, the story, they found his clothes rather badly ripped up, and it was, uh, a lot of shark bites, a lot of problems. Nobody's ever escaped from Alcatraz, and just represented something, uh, strong having to do with law and order. We need law and order in this country, and so we're going to look at it, some of the people up here are going to be working very hard on that, and uh, we had a little conversation. I think it's going to be very interesting..."

who cares? Honestly, I mean who truly cares about that now? Our America is currently being destroyed by a fascist. That is the real story.

Or how about Trump talking about submarines this week. Explain this one, OP:
[quote] "Well, uh, weapon, out of, as you say. We're also doing very heavy on submarines. We have a lead on submarines that I don't think, unless you have a really, really stupid group of people, including the president, I don't think anybody can catch us on submarines. We have, uh, submarine, more submarine, uh, in particular, the late, the late model, this, we're 15 years advanced on the submarine. Nobody can even come close. It can, uh, stay underwater for 30 years. Think of it. You know, the only reason it has to come up is for food. It doesn't need water, because they have, you know, they have their system of water, which is, they can stay forever. The only reason it has to come up is for food. Can you imagine? Can stay underground...underwater...for years."

Sleepy Donny this week. But no, let's talk about Biden's memory, because it's oh, so relevant right now.

Can we move on? Who cares. The GOP propped up a guy with Alzheimer’s and now, someone who has obvious mental issues

Why did Axios bring this up, now?
Why did OP feel the need to post this, now?
Because it pisses Democrats off that if Biden misspoke by even one syllable of one word the media was relentlessly all over it but they give a pass to Trump rambling incoherently for hours on end. And Axios, OP, and all the trolls know it.
We have to accept that this is the way that it is. After three cycles in which this was one of the main points of contention, it is established. The Republican can be a brain-dead buffoon, the least qualified person to run for the office in history, and a clear and present danger to our democracy-on-life-support, and nothing he says will stick. The Democrat can be the sharpest, most educated, most experienced and most qualified person for the job in the history of the nation, and it is still insufficient.
If we have any hope of saving democracy, we must pivot, give up the both-sides-isms arguments, and take a completely new (for the Democrats) tack.
In the interim, don't feed the trolls.

We have a seriously deranged, mentally unstable sociopath and psycopath running the country and yet the self-appointed intelligensia like Axios wants to dwell on recemt past history.
Give it a fucking rest already and deal with the catasrophe at hand.

All the shriekers on this thread were probably the same ones trying to gaslight us that Uncle Joe was right as rain, some even holding fast after the disastrous debate where Biden’s sundowning got a live, international audience.
Yes, Trump is terrible. Democrats had four years to strategize against him. Instead, an inner circle propped up a senile old man and then caved to his and his family’s egos, allowing him to run again even in the face of undeniable (yet oft denied!) dementia. And when it became impossible to hide he was failing, we were stuck with an unpopular, inarticulate, forever waffling candidate who was appointed rather than selected by voters.
And now we are supposed to plug our ears and forget how the current calamity came to pass.

R20 But let's keep talking about Biden because that's so helpful right now as a literal maniac squats in the White House.

Pretending Biden was mentally ok cost the Democrats a chance to beat Trump. So yes it all mattered and still does.

Exactly. If Biden had decided NOT to run back around the time of the depo, then the odds of Trump sitting in the WH today would have been low.

It’s all coming out now because of the book, of course. It shows how delusional many Democrats were about sticking with Biden—I was among them. The worst part is that the best and the brightest in the WH were among the most delusional of all. Hi daughter bring 20/20 and all thst.

Agree with R26. Just because Trump is a malevent narcissist doesn't excuse Biden and his crew. If he had made it clear he was only serving one term, we might have a Democrat in office now.
