I question whether this ever happened. How did the kids find the cake, get a knife to cut it, the plates to put it on, and the forks to eat it? There is no country club that allows children to wander unsupervised into the kitchen, let alone opening pantries or fridges.

I believe OP. You'd be shocked at how entitled some country club members are. They believe their membership confers ownership in a way and they do whatever the fuck they want. I hope this gets reported to the board and this woman gets dumped from the club.

I can believe it happened, too. When I was a kid, I'd probably have explored if I was around other kids or bored and left unsupervised. But snooping would be my limit. No way would I even have touched the cake.

In addition to getting it reported to the membership board, OP, I hope you or your supervisor let the wedding host know the identity of the member whose kids did this. They will surely make sure she is kicked out or at least destroy her social standing at the club.
