Judge Strikes Down LGBTQ Workplace Protections

MAGA Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk has issued a ruling declaring that Title VII no longer protects LGBTQ+ people from workplace discrimination. The decision directly contradicts the Supreme Court’s landmark 2020 ruling in Bostock v. Clayton County, which held that discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity is, by definition, sex discrimination.

Kacsmaryk’s ruling marks one of the most alarming judicial rollbacks of LGBTQ+ rights in recent memory — and sets up a direct legal challenge to one of the foundational civil rights protections for queer and trans people in the United States.

And so it REALLY & FINALLY begins beyond the trans hysteria.

Watch this space, and… told ya so!

Kacsmaryk's next challenge case will likely be the sodomy ruling, Lawrence v. Texas from 2003. Can't wait for the time when your neighbors can call the police on you because they heard you having noisy sex with another man.

Here's a tentative listing:

Brown, et al v. Board of Education

Hernandez v. Texas and Guey

Heung Lee v. Johnson

Lawrence v. Texas

Browder v. Gayle and Cooper

Aaron and Boynton v. Virginia

Loving v. Virginia

Obergefell v. Hodges

Connecticut v. Griswold

This story misrepresents the odious ruling as well as the POS judge. But if you read a less biased source, r1, you will find that this is in fact mostly about trans rights. I don’t know whether truth in reporting is important or even desirable at this time, but I am set in my ways.

by Anonymousreply 4May 16, 2025 9:53 PM

The more objective source I neglected to post.

Did the issue a nationwide injunction?

by Anonymousreply 6May 16, 2025 9:57 PM

Did the *judge* issue a nationwide injunction?

by Anonymousreply 7May 16, 2025 10:22 PM

This is the same biased loon judge who tried to ban abortion medication

by Anonymousreply 8May 16, 2025 10:28 PM

WTF! they assured us it would only be TRANS!

I went to law school with this creature. He was a fifth-rate intellect even then. A moron AND a religious nut.

He’s also a terrible writer— read his opinions. He should be working in a shoe store, Al Bundy style.

[quote] queer and trans people

Well, I’m gay. Where does that leave me and other gay people not fixated on fucking alphabet soup or getting attention?

by Anonymousreply 11May 16, 2025 10:36 PM

R4 to stupid to live and you won't.

by Anonymousreply 12May 16, 2025 10:41 PM

R11, the term "queer" includes gays. Maybe focus on right-wingers who want to punish us instead of demonizing people for how they identify.

by Anonymousreply 13May 16, 2025 11:06 PM

R11 it leaves you in the oven right next to Caitlyn you senile old kween.

by Anonymousreply 14May 16, 2025 11:25 PM

Queer this, trans that. That’s why we’re in this mess.

by Anonymousreply 15May 16, 2025 11:27 PM

ABC: “Federal judge strikes down workplace protections for transgender workers”

That’s the gist of it. It’s always about them and we get dragged into it. This just happened in the UK.

by Anonymousreply 16May 16, 2025 11:29 PM

R15, no, it isn't. This judge is a far right fundie loon. People like that have always hated us. 😒

by Anonymousreply 17May 16, 2025 11:53 PM

Get this fucking mess up to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals stat, and kick this despicable loon in his lady balls.

by Anonymousreply 18May 18, 2025 5:59 AM

[quote]But if you read a less biased source, [R1], you will find that this is in fact mostly about trans rights.

It's trans *privileges* that are being taken away, not rights.

Wanting to use the ladies' room or making your colleagues call you by your preferred pronouns are not rights.

by Anonymousreply 19May 18, 2025 6:24 AM

R19, it's not just about bathroom. And it's not just about trans people, either

by Anonymousreply 20May 18, 2025 2:58 PM

WhoEVER would have guessed the you-know-whos would have gotten us into this pickle!

They're not just for losing elections anymore!

by Anonymousreply 21May 18, 2025 3:48 PM

R21, you think conservatives only hate us because of trans people? 🤔

Have you been in a coma for the past 50 years?

by Anonymousreply 22May 18, 2025 5:59 PM

No source. Didn’t happen.
