I had a coworker who didn't pay her taxes for 3 years. The IRS didn't give her any warning, they just went into her bank account and garnished her wages.

They left her with no money to pay her bills so she got her car repossessed, she got kicked out of the house she was renting (the rental company had a police escort and placed most of her stuff on the lawn) and they called her at work telling her she had 3 hours to move her stuff out.

She pulled her 2 teenage girls out of school so they could help pack up. She was staying at a motel asking all of us if she could stay with us. Since she was a middle-aged single mother who loved to party, of course we said no.

She ended up living with her cousin. What a dumbass.

R6 - mugshots aren't exactly forgiving - and bad lighting/angles aren't your friend as you get older. I'm saying for a non-filtered, non-adjusted, straight forward mugshot of a 42 year old - he looks damn good.

Of course 42 isn't 'old'. But it is old-young. You enter your 40s old-young and leave it at 50 as young-old.

R7: i've dealt with the IRS for almost 40 years. The IRS does NOT just swoop down and raid your bank account.

Your friend chose to ignore mailed communications from the IRS. The worst thing you can to do the IRS is ignore them.

I'll wager good money that if you searched your friends home before she got evicted, she probably had a foot tall pile of notices from the IRS, unopened and ignored.
