I haven't watched the Daily Show since Jon Stewart fucked us all by encouraging Trump to run, thinking it would be all shits and giggles, and then walked away from his position as political whisperer to the generation most likely to have no grounded beliefs nor worldly experience to find them... and an attention span of the few seconds it takes to scroll to the next thirst trap. If Stewart had held on for 9 more months and convinced 90,000 college kids (a mere fraction of the number who attended his and Colbert's completely wasted "Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear") spread across three states to go to the ballot box and vote for Hillary, we would be laughing at Trump's latest bankruptcy rather than living through the Hell on Earth that he has unleashed.

My only solace is that Stewart will go to his grave knowing that [italic]he is responsible for this[/italic] and it must eat him alive every time he looks in the mirror.

I wish Jon Stewart would go away completely. But, some Dems are still buddies with them and they go on his YouTube show quite often.

I don't understand the powerful attraction of Kosta. I am irrationally aroused by him. Partly I think he'd have a great impish sense of humor whilst fucking.

A more general comment: I was totally over Stewart when he first stepped down. At exactly the time needed, the beginning of the Trump Era, he left. Then when he came back he did little except assure the country how old an incapable Biden was, and how the Dems were useless. Now, he and his writers and co-hosts provide some of the sanest and most helpful windows into our current crisis. Comedy in authoritarian regimes is sharper and more effective than blunt resistance. Both the Daily Show and the Stewart podcast are, surprisingly, a great media space to generate some hope.

And Kosta is sex on a stick (really, I don't understand my reaction to him....)

R18 Maybe you should pay closer attention, He's not a democrat. He's an economist populist of the old school. Old = being a strong union, anti-oligarchy, strong social safety net guy. I resented him for a long time... I've come to see that the resentment I have is a form of the Democrat's problem. I hated how he savaged Biden. Then the debate. Dems are out of touch (Stewart's prime message.) Dems and the progressive center and center-left need to press reset.
