Looked like a studio TV show to me, I didn’t pay that much attention.

Rita Moreno was a messy chicano bitch for throwing that level of shade at a woman who’s dead and gone and who showed her an act of kindness no matter how self serving Moreno though it was.

Rita would have spent old age cleaning hotel rooms if it weren’t for one lucky break. Instead, she got to spend the rest of her life dining out on one long-ago awards show glory and fictitiously inserting herself into old Hollywood stories in a sad attempt to stay relevant. She’s wasn’t a third of the actress or person Joan Crawford was. And Joan didn’t get her break because she could play a Puerto Rican stereotype. She had to actually work for it and fight to keep it. And she did most of it without a man.

Ann Miller also told the story of how vicious Joan was. Joan went and purposely stole her boyfriend.

That homely little diaper lady June Allyson also confirmed Joan's abusive tendencies on talk shows like Merve Griffin and Mike Douglas. I believe she related how Joan regifted her child a present June had previously given to poor Christina.

Always worth remembering Sally Struthers' appearance on the late Gilbert Gottfried's podcast, where she lavished praise on nearly everyone she worked with except Rita, whom she called "Miss Coozeburger."

When they were appearing in "The Odd Couple" on Broadway, a major politico visited and wanted a photo with them after the show. Instead, according to Sally, Rita led everyone into her dressing room for the photo and closed the door on Sally, saying, "You won't be needed."

(Also worth noting: Sally said Brenda Vaccaro replaced Rita later in the run and they had a blast every night.)

Joan Crawford was 5'3", while Rita, at 5'2", was only an inch shorter. Yet Rita makes it sound like Joan was a big sasquatch of a woman.

I doubt this ever happened.
