Inside Amy Schumers

She's not the tacky whore you imagined.

She’s off-putting to me, and I don't care enough to watch a video to change my mind.

by Anonymousreply 1May 15, 2025 4:41 PM

Definitely a car farter.

by Anonymousreply 2May 15, 2025 5:07 PM

Who isn't?

by Anonymousreply 3May 15, 2025 5:09 PM

I never would have had her pegged to have a house in New Orleans. Wonder if it's for her chef husband.

Definitely a no-go May-September. It's a swamp. SO humid and hot.

by Anonymousreply 4May 15, 2025 5:17 PM

You aren’t, R3, if you are in my car. It is forbidden!

by Anonymousreply 5May 15, 2025 5:17 PM

R5 - you just made it 10x more appealing now.

I'll blame it on a dog or a sewar leak.

by Anonymousreply 6May 15, 2025 5:30 PM

It’s the tiny lips r1. They make her look like a creepy doll.

by Anonymousreply 7May 15, 2025 5:35 PM

I've changed my mind about her over the years. Her stand-up is disgusting and vulgar, and I wouldn't watch more than 4 minutes of it, but her TV shows and movies have shown that she has much more depth and talent than I thought.

by Anonymousreply 8May 15, 2025 5:38 PM

Her sketch show wasn't all that bad. The episodes that were done for Paramount Plus were much better than the Comedy Central ones.

by Anonymousreply 9May 15, 2025 5:51 PM

I genuinely like her. But I also dig Lena Dunham who you all hate.

by Anonymousreply 10May 15, 2025 5:52 PM

Gonna need a steam shovel

by Anonymousreply 11May 15, 2025 5:58 PM

I visited NOLA in July one year while driving across the U.S. to relocate.

I will NEVER forget the smell of Bourbon Street in the late morning when they were hosing it down after a night of obvious drunken debauchery (not on my part) - it smelled of vomit, piss and shit. I almost lost my croissant getting a whiff of that as the day began to heat up.

Disgusting - AND disgustingly hot.

I liked her place, though. The kitchen was not overtly done, and really kind of unassuming.

by Anonymousreply 12May 15, 2025 6:33 PM

The books are organized by COLOR. Is there not a DL rule against that? She's dead to me.

I actually don't like the house decor that much, but I do love the little angled pool in the back.

by Anonymousreply 13May 15, 2025 10:29 PM

Only the kids books were by color. I almost hated her until she said that

by Anonymousreply 14May 15, 2025 10:33 PM

As attuned and fixated as DLers are to all the class gradations of America from1950-2000, we’re kind of hopeless (in the aggregate) at the stuff that comes after it.

Amy Schumer is very obviously a millennial bobo from a wealthy background - her uncle is Chuck Schumer for Christ’s sake. It’d actually be shocking if she lived in some tacky exurban McMansion with a bunch of minion pillows and wall art from Home Goods.

by Anonymousreply 15May 15, 2025 10:44 PM

Is she really a bohemian though? Definitely bourgeois, at the very least adjacent. Getting jizzed on by Louis CK does not a bohemian make.

by Anonymousreply 16May 15, 2025 10:49 PM

R15 Chuck Schumer isn't her uncle. He's like her second or third cousin.

by Anonymousreply 17May 15, 2025 11:14 PM

And having a senator for a relative doesn't make you rich, either.

by Anonymousreply 18May 16, 2025 2:02 AM

The vocal fry is strong with that one.

by Anonymousreply 19May 16, 2025 12:17 PM

Don’t like her furniture.

by Anonymousreply 20May 16, 2025 4:29 PM

R12 - you're right about the heat and humidity - it's oppressive. Feels more so than Florida for me.

Now imagine living there before air-conditioning with 18th and 19th century clothing styles. Ugh.

It's like living in the North with no heat.
