r9, I read that sentence at first as " I like these videos of short people in the industry talking about their favorite movies," and so I thought to myself, "I can't wait to see which films are the favorites of Daniel Radcliffe and Kristin Chenoweth."

That was more than [italic]four years ago.[/italic] Can you seriously be complaining someone is repeating content from that long ago?
Remove the fucking telephone pole from between your butt-cheeks, Controllerina.

R14 I saw Nashville when it first came out and the one thing that will not leave my mind is when the blonde singer got on stage and she had massive runs in her stockings. I can't recall if they were black fishnets or just black but on the big screen they were so in your face.

R1 and R13 made me laugh out loud LOL. I should have been more specific. After my father died, I saw him everywhere but could never see his face, like in the movie, the father can never see his "daughter's" face until it's too late.
My father was tall, had gray hair and drove a vintage, green jaguar and for about a month after his death, my sisters and I saw our "father" drive this same car. He was everywhere. Even on small deserted roads he would should up but we could never see his face. He also showed up in malls and grocery stores, wearing the same clothes my father wore but we could never see his face. He wanted us to follow him and we did for a while until I saw this movie and then told my sisters to stop following him.
Ironically, 5 years prior to his death, my father had a similar experience with his ex-wife a few days after she died.
I asked many people what this could mean and got a 100 different answers: the spirit of the person living in another dimension, a bad omen, a holographic projection, an evil spirited pretending to be the person who died, a coincidence, a hallucination etc.
Don't Look Now doesn't provide answers but I'm curious to know if the movie is based on the director's personal experience.

Helen dearest, a little birdie tweeted me the news that an appropriate box set is in development. Considering the age of your fanbase it ill be a vhs collection, repackaging the many unsold copys of your cinematic achievments.
Bless you!

R23, you're not Kiefer Sutherland, by any chance?
by Anonymous | reply 28 | May 14, 2025 2:09 PM

R28 No. My father died in 2011. Donald Sutherland died in 2024.

R23, it’s based upon a novella by Daphne DuMaurier so she would have been the one with an experience.

I would go for the multi disc sets: Whit Stillman, Stan Brakhage, Godzilla, Marlon Riggs, Grey Gardens.

Tampopo is great, OP. You'll be craving noodles like crazy after it.
I think I would take Kieslowski's Three Colours trilogy and would have to think about the other two. Maybe a pre-Code film (Stanwyck or Crawford) and something beautiful and epic.
