Skinny people: What’s your go-to snack?

I’m trying to make a dedicated effort to eat healthier. Meals are easy enough, but snacking is killing me—what do you skinny bitches grab on the go (say, just after leaving the office before boarding the subway home) that’s available and quick but low in calories?

by Anonymousreply 80May 15, 2025 3:46 AM

Fruit.

by Anonymousreply 1May 13, 2025 8:24 PM

Make your luncheon as your primary meal and eat a huge salad. You will naturally lose weight. Snacks? Don't drink coffee or sugary drinks. Back in the day everyone ate a bologna sandwich and were pretty thin.

by Anonymousreply 2May 13, 2025 8:24 PM

Baby carrots

by Anonymousreply 3May 13, 2025 8:25 PM

An 8oz protein shake

by Anonymousreply 4May 13, 2025 8:32 PM

A handful of unsalted cashews or nuts does the trick for me.

by Anonymousreply 5May 13, 2025 8:40 PM

Skinnys don't snack.

by Anonymousreply 6May 13, 2025 8:45 PM

Don't snack - only one meal a day. I've been that way for 30 years.

I've deduced that my one meal, at the end of the day, is my reward. I do love sweets but only in moderation. That's would be a vice with the other, materbation (not at the same time).

by Anonymousreply 7May 13, 2025 8:49 PM

Ants on a stick

by Anonymousreply 8May 13, 2025 8:51 PM

Honestly it’s the daily math, total calories. I’m skinny and a constant grazer… and meal skipper. I go healthy sometimes and skip lunch, just have a KIND bar and a bottle of greens juice at noon, then snack again 4pm.

by Anonymousreply 9May 13, 2025 8:56 PM

Air.

by Anonymousreply 10May 13, 2025 8:58 PM

ps. interesting that I’m the exact opposite of R7 who consumes their entire daily intake as 1 meal. I get full so fast, could never do that. I start grazing at 7am and don’t stop til 10pm. Keeps my energy steady. But everybody is different.

by Anonymousreply 11May 13, 2025 8:59 PM

Veggie sticks (also called veggie straws) with salsa. Good crunch and spice without much substance. Or crudités and a light dressing.

by Anonymousreply 12May 13, 2025 9:05 PM

Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.

by Anonymousreply 13May 13, 2025 9:09 PM

Another air snacked, here.

by Anonymousreply 14May 13, 2025 9:10 PM

Cottage cheese High protein yogurt

by Anonymousreply 15May 13, 2025 9:11 PM

A few walnuts or blueberries

by Anonymousreply 16May 13, 2025 9:11 PM

Pistachios. There's something satisfying about releasing them from their shells. Half of an English muffin with chunky peanut butter is yummy too.

by Anonymousreply 17May 13, 2025 10:07 PM

Water. Keep drinking water.

by Anonymousreply 18May 13, 2025 10:40 PM

Instant flavoured oatmeal and 4.5 oz of scotch on the rocks to wash it down.

by Anonymousreply 19May 13, 2025 11:04 PM

Fresh ground peanut butter, no sugar preserves and Ezekiel Sprouted grain bead. I have lost 40 pounds snacking this.

by Anonymousreply 20May 13, 2025 11:14 PM

Ass.

by Anonymousreply 21May 13, 2025 11:28 PM

raisins and walnuts

by Anonymousreply 22May 13, 2025 11:29 PM

Fruit and some nuts - brazil and macademia are the most healthy, but I usually go with almonds and cashews for taste.

It's easy to eat too many nuts, so measure it out - no more than a quarter to one-third cup.

by Anonymousreply 23May 13, 2025 11:32 PM

Meth.

by Anonymousreply 24May 13, 2025 11:34 PM

Vodka

by Anonymousreply 25May 13, 2025 11:35 PM

Pork tacos fried in lard make sure the tortilla is also fried in lard. The skinny are mean and hate themselves and others. Thats really sad that you're aspiring to be one.

by Anonymousreply 26May 13, 2025 11:38 PM

I usually keep an Entemann's and some Jolly Ranchers in my snack purse. It helps to keep my appetite at bay until dinner, if I can hold out that long.

by Anonymousreply 27May 13, 2025 11:46 PM

Salads and veggies and fruits. Take the crap out of the house. If it’s not in the house it’s not on my hips.

Sauté a boatload of veggies- add protein or even a lean cuisine . It mimics having a normal meal. But we always knew we weren’t normal

by Anonymousreply 28May 13, 2025 11:47 PM

Dust.

by Anonymousreply 29May 14, 2025 1:06 AM

Gin

Regret

by Anonymousreply 30May 14, 2025 1:08 AM

OP, if you're asking this, chances are you are almost certainly not meeting your daily protein macros, so try and stick to high protein snacks. They fill you up for longer than carbs do and can help you get closer to your daily protein needs.

Don't eat snacks, eat real food.

by Anonymousreply 32May 14, 2025 1:29 AM

an apple a day

by Anonymousreply 33May 14, 2025 1:34 AM

“Veggies”? “Yummy”? Are some of you twelve years old? Or frauen?

by Anonymousreply 34May 14, 2025 1:38 AM

Apple or banana with a little peanut butter.

Apple with a small slice of cheddar

Pear with a small portion of blue cheese and some walnuts

Red grapes with small portion of asiago cheese

by Anonymousreply 35May 14, 2025 1:42 AM

I stick to three meals a day which each contain protein and healthy fat that help keep me satisfied.

If I were to snack, it would be on something like nuts, seeds, dried legumes, or a dessertspoon of peanut butter that doesn't have sugar or salt added with an apple or banana. Or brown rice crackers with hommous.

by Anonymousreply 36May 14, 2025 1:43 AM

I like cheese and crackers.

by Anonymousreply 37May 14, 2025 1:45 AM

Here’s my secret: I was born that way.

by Anonymousreply 38May 14, 2025 1:45 AM

Skinnypop popcorn

by Anonymousreply 39May 14, 2025 1:47 AM

Paper.

by Anonymousreply 40May 14, 2025 1:49 AM

Go days with no snacks. Unsweatened tea. Or water. .

in the old days I'd smoke a cigarette. I dont smoke anymore and I guess few people do.

If you really must snack, think keto protein and fat. You probably need to reduce carbs radically in your total caloric intake. So "on the go" you grab cooked chicken pieces or noncured meats from the deli such as roast beef or roast pork. We have sliced non-cured pork roast at least in switzerland. And cheese. Fat is your friend. Fat and protein. eat a hard boiled egg. roll up sliced meat and cheese and eat that. NO BREAD, you fattie.

by Anonymousreply 41May 14, 2025 2:09 AM

Thin-sliced almost fat-free deli ham wrapped around a dill pickle and dipped in yellow mustard.

by Anonymousreply 42May 14, 2025 2:25 AM

I like cheese and crackers

R37 - Not Eggs Gefluffen? Ham and Gudrehagens? Pigs in a Svengebluten?

by Anonymousreply 43May 14, 2025 2:27 AM

Something like walnuts or a cheese stick. But I think what helps the most is nightly fasting. Try to have an early dinner. Then only water until breakfast. So if you can get 12 hours without any food, you should lose weight.

by Anonymousreply 44May 14, 2025 2:31 AM

r34 I share your views on the term "veggies". It makes my skin crawl. Once we grow out of the toddler stage, we don't eat veggies, only vegetables.

by Anonymousreply 45May 14, 2025 2:34 AM

I suspect "veggies" is typed by fat old pigs who live for Little Debbie variety snack packs and "uncut dick = dealbreaker" is by the same fat old unfuckable pigs who haven't seen a hot hard dick in 3 decades.

by Anonymousreply 46May 14, 2025 6:29 AM

After so many years on DL, I've become immune to reading about "veggies."

by Anonymousreply 47May 14, 2025 7:33 AM

I get one hot meal a day, a bowl of steam.

(From Take The Money And Run.)

by Anonymousreply 48May 14, 2025 7:36 AM

Shigresh!

by Anonymousreply 49May 14, 2025 7:57 AM

The Liza joke (emphasis on the singular) is just so damned cutting edge!

Isn’t it?

I generally stick with either an apple, orange, or a banana. But once in a while I crave something a little more savory. Then I usually prepare 6 or so saltines with a slice of cheddar cheese and a ring of Vidalia onion. I find the mixture of tastes from the cheddar and the onion to be very nice.

by Anonymousreply 52May 14, 2025 12:23 PM

Banannas....ot slice an apple in half and put peanut butter or a low fat nut butter on both halves. Also lors of water. Chia seeds in water, let sit for 10 mins..it goes gloopy (u can add more water). It stops hunger and even better than water alone as they hold 1000 times their own weight in water. If its savoury u want, slice a pece out of the length of a bananna and sprinkle pink hymalayan salt onto the gap.

by Anonymousreply 53May 14, 2025 12:33 PM

Fresh fruit (also, fresh fruit salads from my neighborhood supermarket)

Nuts (only a handful for an afternoon snack)

If I'm craving popcorn, a mini size bag of microwave popcorn

If I'm craving potato chips, (highly recommend) a bag of Pop chips.

I'm very rarely hungry (only dinner which is salad and a protein) since changing my daily regiment to this, along with exercise in the morning and again when I come home from work. So far, (I'm female), since I've started this lifestyle change a year ago, I've dropped from a size 16 to a size 8.

by Anonymousreply 54May 14, 2025 12:46 PM

Roasted unsalted nuts

by Anonymousreply 55May 14, 2025 12:54 PM

Wholly Avocado Smashed Avocado Mini Cups

Six cups in a package. Filling due to the "good" fat. 130 calories, 5g carbs, 3g fiber.

If it's too plain, get a tiny 1.6 oz bottle of Tajin to dress it up and it's easy to carry around.

NUTS. Sometimes cheese. No carbs.

by Anonymousreply 58May 14, 2025 1:35 PM

A cup of grapes. Well actually that's my main meal for the day.

by Anonymousreply 59May 14, 2025 1:42 PM

Metamucil

by Anonymousreply 60May 14, 2025 1:43 PM

Edamame with sea salt.

Two fingers smartly down the throat

by Anonymousreply 62May 14, 2025 1:46 PM

I love snacking, but it's rare that I'll eat past 3pm, unless it's going out to dinner or on vacation. Nuts, cheese, or if I want something sweet, cocoa dusted almonds or 2 dates with some unadulterated peanut butter. A lot of fluids.. I love TJ's plantain chips, but those are like crack-I'll eat a half bag at one sitting, so I can't have those around all the time. They're empty calories unfortunately.

[quote] Make your luncheon* as your primary meal

*That means lunch for you lowly peasants.

by Anonymousreply 64May 14, 2025 2:11 PM

Fruit. I always find the idea of fruit boring but then when I eat it, I enjoy it.

Mostly oranges, bananas and apples.

by Anonymousreply 65May 14, 2025 2:17 PM

OP, you seriously need a snack in the time it takes you to leave work and head home?

by Anonymousreply 66May 14, 2025 2:38 PM

fattie mindset

by Anonymousreply 67May 14, 2025 3:19 PM

Those aren’t snacks.

by Anonymousreply 68May 14, 2025 3:36 PM

Just eat whatever you like. It doesn't matter.

by Anonymousreply 69May 14, 2025 3:40 PM

It does matter. If I eat what I like I gain weight. That’s bad in many ways.

by Anonymousreply 70May 14, 2025 3:45 PM

So you are a fattie, and a snark- and satire-free zone.

by Anonymousreply 71May 14, 2025 3:49 PM

Eat two thirds of your lunch and save one third to eat before you head home.

Bringing snacks to work is intentionally planning to overeat. Don’t do that.

by Anonymousreply 72May 14, 2025 3:56 PM

Sliced Jicama is a good low cal snack, with a little bit of spice like paprika or chili powder.

by Anonymousreply 73May 14, 2025 4:20 PM

a piece of fruit

72% cacao dark chocolate

by Anonymousreply 74May 14, 2025 4:41 PM

r5 where do you get the unsalted cashews? All the places I go to have unsalted peanuts but salt on all the other nuts.

by Anonymousreply 75May 14, 2025 5:41 PM

[quote] Eat two thirds of your lunch and save one third to eat before you head home. Bringing snacks to work is intentionally planning to overeat. Don’t do that.

I had an all-day meeting yesterday and fasted the whole day, not taking any of the snacks available at the meeting. It’s all willpower.

by Anonymousreply 76May 14, 2025 7:37 PM

I think it’s hilarious that this many people on DL self-identify as skinny.

by Anonymousreply 77May 14, 2025 7:45 PM

r75 Trader Joe's has a huge selection of different type of nuts, and many are available raw and/or unsalted.

by Anonymousreply 78May 15, 2025 3:44 AM

Baby carrots dipped in salsa, hummus, or onion dip made with nonfat Greek yogurt.

by Anonymousreply 79May 15, 2025 3:44 AM

Grapes - great snack, sweet, plus some fiber
