Sonja Morgan ‘blacklisted’ from Tucci NYC after refusing to pay $1,000 bill

Ex-“Real Housewives of New York City” star Sonja Morgan caused quite the scene at Noho hotspot Tucci on Saturday after the restaurant refused to comp her bill, we hear.

She called owner Max Tucci after being handed a $1,000 check demanding a comp because, among other things, she’s a single mother.

“She was absolutely hysterical and refused to pay. It was like she was filming a ‘Housewives’ episode, shouting, ‘I’m a celebrity!,'” a source claimed to Page Six.

By Monday, Morgan had paid the bill, including a tip. But we’re told she’s no longer welcome at the spot.

We’re told that she has indeed been given free meals by the restaurant in the past, and she had mistakenly assumed that that would be the case on this occasion.

Morgan, 61, began on a dicey ground, booking a table for three but arriving amidst a busy weekend night with a party of five. (We’re told the group stopped by for dinner and to pregame before hitting up her cousin Jack Morgan’s 30th birthday celebration at Boom Boom.)

Things went downhill when the server delivered a bill for almost $1,000, the onlooker shared.

“She was like, ‘I don’t pay; people pay me [to go to their restaurants].’ She was absolutely entitled and caused a scene about not paying.”

But we’re told that after she spoke to Tucci, it became clear that he had no intention of giving her dinner on the house.

Morgan confirmed to us “there was a clear miscommunication,” adding, “I believed I was dining in exchange for a promotional post. … I made that known to staff.”

A fed-up Tucci, however, is sticking up for his staff and has now blacklisted Morgan from the restaurant.

“It’s not about me. Don’t do that to my staff,” he told Page Six.

“The cost of everything is so expensive right now [for restaurants], and she’s just taking advantage. … There was no arrangement for her to have a comped dinner. She just wanted free food and service.”

Ha! I love that the owner was like, "No, you entitled bitch. Pay up and get out and never come back!"

by Anonymousreply 2May 13, 2025 12:19 PM

I've never heard of this woman. In what universe is she a celebrity? Gross behavior meant to gain attention, which it did.

by Anonymousreply 3May 13, 2025 12:22 PM

We live in the Leona Helmsley word of cheap celebrities.

These do nothing, know nothing people who are known by .00005% of the global population are of no bother TO ME.

by Anonymousreply 4May 13, 2025 12:24 PM

R3 she's one of the former Real Housewives of NYC on Bravo.

In the second picture of her in the article, what exactly am I looking at here? Is she naked from the waist down?

any "real housewife" needs to be blacklisted

No wonder the ultra rich have so much money—they don’t pay for anything!

by Anonymousreply 9May 13, 2025 2:58 PM

$1000 for a party of five, is $200 each.

What the fuck did they order??

by Anonymousreply 10May 13, 2025 3:00 PM

Stupid entitled bitch - stop making stupid people think they are celebrities.

by Anonymousreply 11May 13, 2025 3:01 PM

A neighborhood bakery is charging 9 dollars for a chocolate chip cookie, prices are fucked

by Anonymousreply 12May 13, 2025 3:08 PM

If you order wine or cocktail 🍹 your bill is expensive

by Anonymousreply 13May 13, 2025 3:08 PM

This country needs a revolution.

At least it's a trendy restaurant in NYC. I just got back from Reykjavik after not having been there in 10 years or so. There, you pay 30 dollars for three eggs and three pieces of bacon at a diner. A nice one, but still a diner. I cancelled a dinner reservation there at a fusion Icelandic-Japanese place after seeing that a spring roll appetizer on their online menu was 60 dollars (!)

by Anonymousreply 15May 13, 2025 3:16 PM

Can a restaurant frequented by a former real housewife truly be a “hotspot”?

by Anonymousreply 16May 13, 2025 4:02 PM

I think many of these washed-up housewives are either secretly broke, desperate for attention, or both.

by Anonymousreply 17May 13, 2025 4:41 PM

She’s always had money troubles. She sold that Grey Gardens townhouse a while back, the one next door to a parking garage. She has over a million followers on Instagram, surely she can work out comped meals at restaurants before she goes out.

This article alone, has brought more attention to Tucci NYC than it otherwise would have gotten.

The owner should have comped her meal.

What's a $1000 dinner bill, in exchange for all this free publicity??

by Anonymousreply 19May 13, 2025 10:18 PM

Boy, do I miss this crazy old cooze. She and Ramona Singer (along with Bethenny and LouMan) were the stuff of legend.

by Anonymousreply 20May 13, 2025 11:36 PM

It’s rough to be broke.

by Anonymousreply 21May 14, 2025 12:17 AM

See if NYC still had the original cast we could be watching this

by Anonymousreply 22May 14, 2025 12:25 AM

The countess would never!

by Anonymousreply 25May 14, 2025 3:29 AM

Money can't buy you class

by Anonymousreply 26May 14, 2025 10:19 AM

R8 for an upscale place in NY, those prices aren’t bad. She’d be expected to throw in $250 tip on top of that. Don’t you still have to tip on a comped meal?

by Anonymousreply 27May 14, 2025 11:00 AM

Doesn't she have any pull with Stanley?

by Anonymousreply 28May 14, 2025 11:59 AM

A generous tip is required for the comped meal. Dude, just stay home and cook. The food is not good anymore and we are being ripped off!

by Anonymousreply 29May 14, 2025 1:15 PM

R27 I tip pretty lavishly on comped meals, to thank the servers and acknowledge the value of the meal and the opportunity cost of occupying that table during our visit. Also, if invited to a gala or fundraiser, participate in any fundraising activity at the event itself. And spend at least the cost of your seat.

by Anonymousreply 30May 14, 2025 5:10 PM

Such suffering for food! Such a sad world.

That poor woman.

by Anonymousreply 31May 14, 2025 5:15 PM

by Anonymousreply 32May 14, 2025 5:47 PM

by Anonymousreply 33May 15, 2025 5:21 AM

No, r33. Food is expensive in Iceland. Everyone knows that.

by Anonymousreply 34May 15, 2025 5:44 AM

I had sympathy for the owner when he said, “The cost of everything is so expensive right now [for restaurants], and she’s just taking advantage. … There was no arrangement for her to have a comped dinner.”

Most working people are nervous about finances right now. It’s not the time to expect free handouts.

by Anonymousreply 35May 15, 2025 6:18 AM

[quote]R6 In the second picture of her in the article, what exactly am I looking at here? Is she naked from the waist down?

I’m very puzzled, as well (!)

by Anonymousreply 36May 15, 2025 6:19 AM

I don't understand places that DO comp celebrities.

Why the fuck comp some rich bastard you've seen on TV?

Fuck that shit.

by Anonymousreply 37May 15, 2025 8:03 AM

Yeah, can anyone explain the half-naked pic?

by Anonymousreply 38May 15, 2025 1:22 PM

The half-nekkid picture is her wearing a skin colored body suit at a drag brunch at a place called Tryst or something in Puerto Vallarta. Getty images has a clearer picture.

100% on Tucci’s side. And I like that he stuck up for his staff. What a parasite she is.

Restaurant work is real work and it’s hard, especially on a peak night. If you’ve done it then you know. And it’s true that most restaurant owners are feeling financially stressed or nervous right now. Tucci’s will likely survive but the next level down, the ones that wish they were Tucci’s… many will close if we slide into a real recession.

by Anonymousreply 43May 15, 2025 1:46 PM

No, R24, Sonja is broke and has been for years.

by Anonymousreply 44May 15, 2025 1:48 PM

R43 And Sonja should know better. She was working as a hostess at a restaurant when she met her husband. Her humble restaurant beginnings allowed her to marry rich and escape her servitude ghetto.

Sorry for triple post. It appeared not to be posting

by Anonymousreply 46May 15, 2025 3:15 PM

Don't bother coming here unless you have a severe eating disorder and want to be surrounded by people plotting who they can use this summer for a Hamptons weekend getaway. Me and my friend came, and to no surprise, were easily able to make a reservation. We started with the burrata, which was TWENTY SIX dollars. Yes, that's correct, $26. And it did not come with bread - we had to pay an extra $10 for sourdough bread. For the same price, we could have bought 3 loafs at Whole Foods.

by Anonymousreply 47May 15, 2025 11:14 PM

Not to worry R46. Thanks for solving the mystery.
