ElliQ - the robot that talks to your grandma

I just saw an ad for this thing on Facebook and had to check Google to see if it's real. It is. From the videos I found on Youtube, it's been around from at least 2023, but I never heard of this gizmo. This is being offered as a talking companion for older adults - an interactive AI version of Alexa. It's about the size of a small lamp with a light inside and a screen about the size of an Ipad where exercise videos, music, etc. could be seen. Apparently it can be programmed to help elders do things like take their meds, exercise, remind them about appointments and generally keep them company.

It will take the initiative to interact with the human it's programmed to, using their name. It can even make jokes, ask about health ailments and offer sympathy or suggest calling family members.
