Tom Hardy Says His Health Issues Are ‘Not Going to Get Better’
Actor Tom Hardy has had his fair share of health issues lately, and the actor bleakly admitted that he doesn’t think they’ll get any better.
Hardy opened up about his health problems in a new interview with Esquire (on May 9th). He’s an actor in high demand who works a lot; after he finished promoting The Last Dance in December, he immediately began filming MobLand. After a while, that level of hard work can take its toll.
“I got dizzy today,” said Hardy. “I took a Sudafed and it’s starting to work so I feel better, but in the interviews I was sitting there, and you know when you feel not right, but you can’t tell someone you don’t feel right? Like, ‘Listen, if I pass out…”
Hardy then went into detail about some of his issues — explaining that he’s had “two knee surgeries now” along with a herniated disc in his back and sciatica. “And I have that… is it plantar fasciitis?” he revealed.

Those issues sound like a lot for anyone to deal with, but Hardy wasn’t finished. “There’s only more, more, more,” he explained. “Of what? Stomach ulcers? Blood pressure? Your knees are going, your hair’s falling out, your teeth are wonky, you’re almost 50.”

[quote] Hardy spent much time in his youth drinking alcohol and using crack cocaine to cope with stresses and has suffered significant bouts of dysthymia. He has previously said that he was "out of control" with his alcohol and drug use before going to rehab in 2003.
Maybe that didn't help. Most people aren't falling apart at 47 if they took care of themselves.

Welcome to middle age, Tom Hardy!
And R3, go fuck yourself. The human body degenerates no matter what you do. It’s called aging.

I think we better schedule an immediate Assendectomy

Tom talks about the time he got blackout drunk and woke up naked next to a man in bed, and the man had a gun.

Are these injuries from doing stunt work? I never understood actors who want to do as many of their stunts as possible. I'd be calling for my stunt double ASAP.

A friend complained about an unusual spot on his big toe awhile back.
Hunny, you drank, smothered and took every pill offered on the dance floor!
Tom needs to consider the five drugs he’s using to keep the hair on his head is affecting his health.

R12, a lot of it is genetic, in his case likely aggravated by activities.
Around the age of 40, you start to find out about all these genetic “gifts” you’ve inherited.

I think a lot of it is just being English.

All that substance abuse clearly did a number on his skin.

None of his "health issues " sound that serious, though he is experiencing them a little early. That's mid-50s stuff he's reporting hin the OP quote.

Plantar fasciitis does often hit in your 40s.

My tolerance for alcohol disappeared at 40. I had to stop drinking because even two drinks got me all fucked up and I felt hideous the next day. Middle age sucks.
