My takedown on Faye Dunaway as Joan Crawford and the making of "Mommie Dearest." FYI, I'm a fan of both Faye and Joan, yet aware that neither were a walk in the park in their showbiz heydays. And will take this "Mommie" over forgettable "Feud" any day.
I'm assuming you're posting this because Joan died on this date in 1977?
Almost 50 years ago......

They should but they don't! Remember this sympathetic scene? No? That's because it got cut from "Mommie D!"

I think this is the side of Joan that is true in this movie, the petty tyrant...

"I hope TCM has it on the list for tomorrow."
Sorry, no faux Joan for you today.
But TCM is featuring the real Joan in her star turn, "Mildred Piece" at 6:00PM EDT today.

Mommie Dearest walked so Ryan Murphy FX or Netflix shows could run.

I also love the opening scene, where we see Joan go through her morning OCD rituals.
As a young gayling, I tried the ice in the bathroom sink face wash and it did feel quite refreshing. My parents thought I was nuts.
