If the Democrats were to take back the White House in 2028, and the two oldest Supreme Court justices died during that time, that would rebalance the court and make it majority liberal.
Just a reminder, the two oldest Supreme Court justices are conservative

Do you ever think about anything other than politics?

Well now Republicans are sure to keep the White House.

If the Republicans were to somehow lose the Senate in the 2026 election, Alito and/or Thomas would resign and the Senate would quickly confirm their replacements in the lame duck session. Same if the GOP has the Senate in the next Congress but loses the presidency in the 2028 election. There's no way either of them are going to let their legacy be overturned. Besides, unless the Republicans blow it, they have a chance to have a long-term majority in the Senate, considering the number of red states.

Ginsburg should have retired during Obama's administration when she had the chance. She's no heroine to me.

I think that the Republican judges will leave before the next election giving Trump time to replace them with other much younger MAGA types

Alito is expected to resign either this or next year.

But will people regret that they got what they wished for? Magic 8 Ball says yes.

Hopefully they're both arrogant enough NOT to retire to give cheeto the chance to replace them.

Thomas and Alito are waiting til they can vote against gay marriage.

Yes, R11. My post was merely to throw cold water on OP’s seeming dream that a Democrat elected in ‘28 could replace the Court’s oldest - & most conservative - members.

[quite] Do you ever think about anything other than politics?
Do you ever think about anything but yourself?
Please give us a clearer idea of your interests so that we can limit the threads to those.
Thanks in advance!

I think it would be premature to approve a democratic nomination until the democratic president has with n a second term.
