Anyone in Atlanta feel that earthquake?

I was in the bathtub and my first thought was goddammit, I hope we don't have another water hammer and $700 plumbing bill. Then it occurred to me it could be an earthquake

You lost me at "I was in the bathtub".

by Anonymousreply 1May 10, 2025 1:44 PM

What is a water hammer?

by Anonymousreply 2May 10, 2025 1:53 PM

Pass me my smelling salts.

And that earthquake, just so you will know, and so your aftershock will some day know, is the night the lights went out in Georgia.

by Anonymousreply 4May 10, 2025 2:15 PM

It's a plumbing problem that shakes the house

by Anonymousreply 5May 10, 2025 2:19 PM

That”plumbing problem” is your explosive diarrhea.

by Anonymousreply 6May 10, 2025 2:45 PM

OP, glad it was a mild one (4.1). It is an odd feeling for sure.

The first one I felt was while sitting in a car. I thought I was getting a little dizzy for some unknown reason until i realized my wooziness was perfectly timed with the swinging of the power lines. They are very interesting as long as they don't destroy everything you care about. 😱

The quake happened in Knoxville, Tn., 200 miles away.

The New Madrid fault's going to blow! Just as FEMA is being dismantled.

by Anonymousreply 9May 10, 2025 4:08 PM

That would track, R9. First term it was global pandemic. Second term is Memphis washed into the Gulf of America.

by Anonymousreply 10May 10, 2025 6:14 PM

R9 Not to fear. The MAGAs will pull themselves up by their bootstraps without a second thought. They've never relied on federal aid before and they won't now.

What's that? They take more handouts than anyone? That's just fake news! 😉

I'm surprised Atlantans aren't describing it as a "world class" earthquake, as they like to describe every trivial thing that way.

by Anonymousreply 12May 10, 2025 6:28 PM

"Was that an earthquake or Rhett Butler plowing me from behind?"

by Anonymousreply 13May 10, 2025 7:16 PM

Was Marge seizing out from the wokeness monster?

by Anonymousreply 14May 10, 2025 7:32 PM

Was the earthquake colored?

by Anonymousreply 15May 10, 2025 8:16 PM

Gabourey and Lizzo were having it out at the airport.

by Anonymousreply 16May 10, 2025 8:36 PM

That wasn't an earthquake--that was an ATLANTAQUAKE!
