One reel after another popping up in my Facebook feed of these guys in the Philippines doing first the rolling arm thing from the 80s, then a fucking motion with their hips while doing a “Curly blocking an eye gouge from Moe” pose in front of their face, then proceeding to do the “he’s crazy” pointed finger in a circle motion around the ear. Is this some TikTok thing that became popular in the Philippines? Or are they trying to monetize something? Because there are hundreds and hundreds of videos like this all exactly the same.
What is up with these Filipino reels on Facebook all doing the same ridiculous dances?

Turn off the devices, OP. Give yourself a two week break from the internet.

Asians and black people seem to be dominating social media these days. Lots and lots of new “personalities” and such .

OP, are you referring to the budots dance challenges? The "Emergency" budot one went viral last year and is still being imitated worldwide.
AI Overview: Budots is a Filipino dance and music genre that gained popularity through TikTok. It originated in Davao City and is characterized by its upbeat tempo, repetitive rhythms, and often humorous or nonsensical samples and vocal phrases. The name "budots" comes from the Visayan slang word for slacker.
