I've seen examples of this before. Not the kicked-out-of-the-bathroom aspect, but a woman who looks like a guy on purpose, down to the clothes and haircut, offended when she's mistaken for a guy.

Were they actually in the same stall together, and if not, why would people be saying that? Wouldn't it be enough to say that they think there is a man in the bathroom without adding on that they were in the same stall together? that part is confusing me.

Before men started demanding access to women's toilets and threatening to shit themselves in public if they weren't allowed, this masculine looking woman would probably have gone though life unbothered. It's obvious when she speaks that she is a woman, both her face and her voice.

In fact that this is a story now suggests she hasn't had that many problems in the past.

It definitely sounds like this was mishandled, but I’m a little suspicious that the assertion they were both in the stall was true. Because the girlfriend’s whole “I looked down at her feet” seems like an unnecessary and irrelevant detail. And she would have to have been quite a distance away to see her feet in her standing line of sight. She might have made up that detail as “proof” they weren’t both in the stall.

An alternative scenario:

Everyone was shitfaced and there were a lot of women waiting a long time to pee. They were pissed off that someone who looked like a man decided to use the women’s restroom. Not because they were anti trans or because she is a lesbian, but because they needed to pee and the line at the men’s room was probably shorter. So when she took a long time (possibly because she wasn’t alone in the stall) people complained.

But I’m not sticking up for the security guard. The second she said she was a woman, he should have apologized and gone on his way.

If that were true, then trans women (born male) wouldn't have to go to the trouble of undergoing estrogen hormone therapy and spend thousands of dollars on facial feminization surgery (chin and jaw reduction), Adam's apple reduction, breast implants, and various other cosmetic procedures to look more female.

Why does nobody make a big deal when women enter a men's room just belong the line at their bathroom is so long?

I know R21! I was at a 80s night some years ago (Culture Club, Bananarama, Belinda Carlisle) and the queue for the women's was spilling out into the corridors.

I came out of the cubicle in the men's and there were a few waiting (I didn't need to do a poo, I just don't like weeing at urinals) and a woman came in saw the cubicles were all taken, lifted up the back of her skirt and backed up over a urinal. She saw me looking at her and she said "Don't stare darling it's rude" and I left without drying my hands

Seems like pretty straightforward sex discrimination. You can't mistreat a woman because she has short hair and isn't wearing makeup. That's basically what happened here. I hope she sues the fuck out of the hotel.
