OP, I'm a longtime intermittent faster, eating (a small dinner) only between 5p-8p, which affords me the opportunity to regularly enjoy rich ice cream as my dessert. And I'm very lean.

It originated in Santa Barbara, CA. My father was a complete FIEND for their Vanilla Bean & would make trips to Gelson's just for that. That would have been the 1990s? I think Vicente Foods carried it, too. My local Ralphs carries several flavors, now.
