Hottest Sitcom Dad

Who would y’all say is the hottest sitcom dad? I’ve always been partial to Phil Dunphy, personality and looks. Also wouldn’t hesitate to blow Al Bundy, Michael Bluth or Ted Lasso if they asked me. On a more controversial and less conventional note I have a thing for Jack Geller, Murray Goldberg and Red Foreman.

by Anonymousreply 7May 8, 2025 5:56 PM

Al Bundy in the first couple of seasons on MWC EASILY takes it

Tony Micelli

by Anonymousreply 9May 8, 2025 6:00 PM

I'm so old, Bill Bixby in Courtship of Eddie's Father.

But, yeah, Al Bundy was hot.

by Anonymousreply 10May 8, 2025 6:01 PM

David Sutcliffe played the dad in “Gilmore Girls“, but before that he was in the film “Testosterone”.

I really thought Greg Evigan from My Two Dads was hot back then.

R11 cant be really considered a sitcom dad. GG was not really a sitcom for startes, and he was a recurring character. That

by Anonymousreply 21May 8, 2025 6:24 PM

I was gonna post Carl Betz but figured he was too old for anyone here to know who he was.

R12, thanks for the validation!

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 26May 8, 2025 6:35 PM

Never watched Modern Family much but Phil Dunphy is definitely a big DILF and so is Ted Lasso.

And Bryan Cranston's Hal on Malcolm in the Middle was Phil Dunphy before Phil existed.

by Anonymousreply 27May 8, 2025 6:38 PM

R25 my mouth is wide open

by Anonymousreply 28May 8, 2025 6:40 PM

Hal did it for me. I had such a crush on him.

When he was on Howard Stern, you can surmise from his interview that his sexuality was fluid.

by Anonymousreply 33May 8, 2025 6:48 PM

by Anonymousreply 34May 8, 2025 6:55 PM

R34 let’s say im an opportunist. So no

by Anonymousreply 35May 8, 2025 6:58 PM

Why are so many people saying Al Bundy? Remember, we are talking characters, not actors. He smelled bad. I remember everytime he would take his shoes off, someone would faint or a bird would drop dead from the sky.

by Anonymousreply 36May 8, 2025 7:01 PM

R36 I can hold my breath

by Anonymousreply 37May 8, 2025 7:03 PM

Hugh Beaumont on Leave It To Beaver was handsome.

by Anonymousreply 38May 8, 2025 7:04 PM

The dad from the Donna Reed show was handsome -Carl Betz.

by Anonymousreply 39May 8, 2025 7:09 PM

Archie Bunker?

OK, this sounds weird but I have a mild crush on Andrew Scott, who is not a sitcom dad. But I was recently watching "I Love Lucy" and Scott has the same facial structure, hair, and dark eyes as Desi Arnaz. I can't get the similarity out of my head. (I watch/listen to Pluto TV when I can't sleep.) So it's Ricky Ricardo, but only as Scott's doppelganger.

[quote]R14 I really thought Greg Evigan from My Two Dads was hot back then.

I met him at a party a decade ago and he was incredibly nice. He has several kids and I bet they adore him. He just seemed kind and easygoing.

I'll add Jason Bateman in Arrested Development. Michael was the 'straight man of the family and totally fuckable.

by Anonymousreply 58May 8, 2025 9:12 PM

Dick Van Dyke was like Ray Bolger in that they could do choreography like this and look goofy and gangly but not gay.

[quote] Alan Thicke as Jason Seaver on Growing Pains

Packing in the meat department. He was once very briefly shown adjusting his Speedo, like push-up jockstrap on Battle of the Network Stars. Big shoulders and hairy torso. I've looked for it on Youtube but no such luck.

by Anonymousreply 60May 8, 2025 9:33 PM

[quote] was gonna post Carl Betz but figured he was too old for anyone here to know who he was.

AYK? Most DLers were born before network television was established.

by Anonymousreply 61May 8, 2025 10:19 PM

The fat dad from Young Sheldon. He has a very cute face, but should probably drop 50lbs. I'd still do him. Hes more cute and cuddly than hot, though.

For hotness, I'll say Benjamin Bratt as Manny's dad on Modern Family. He was in five or six episodes so I'm counting him.

by Anonymousreply 62May 9, 2025 12:09 AM

R60, it was called “Star Games” which was a weekly knockoff of “Battle”.

by Anonymousreply 63May 9, 2025 12:24 AM

Tim Allen in Home Improvement.

Paul Reiser in My Two Dads. I wanted that moose knuckle in me so bad.

Doug Sheehan was gorgeous.

by Anonymousreply 68May 9, 2025 12:59 AM

Bob Uecker. I always imagine that he smells of having just smoked a pack of camels much like pretty much all of the men my mom dated or married so I don't know what the hell that says about me or my taste in men given all of her many boyfriends, one night stands and husbands were pretty much complete trash.

by Anonymousreply 69May 9, 2025 1:07 AM

Al Bundy but also be right there at the top of the list along with Hayden from coach.

Mark Miller from Please Don't Eat The Daisies, Greg Evigan from My Two Dads, and the aforementioned Carl Betz

by Anonymousreply 75May 9, 2025 2:06 AM

I would love to see a modern day Battle of the Network Stars.

by Anonymousreply 76May 9, 2025 2:10 AM

Sean Finnerty, Grounded for Life

by Anonymousreply 77May 9, 2025 2:14 AM

Evigan was indeed one of the most beautiful men on TV for many years, but sadly it was all above the waste. Those super tight jeans he always wore belied the fact that he had absolutely the most micro of micro meat.

How about some love for Guy Williams (Lost In Space), Toby Stephens (Lost In Space reboot), or John Stamos (Grandfathered),

by Anonymousreply 91May 9, 2025 3:01 AM

I dont think the lost in space reboot was a comedy. More of an action drama. But Stephen's was hot.

by Anonymousreply 92May 9, 2025 3:08 AM

Not a sitcom but a dad, John Forsythe.

by Anonymousreply 93May 9, 2025 3:31 AM

The original Lost in Space was not a sitcom either.

by Anonymousreply 94May 9, 2025 3:31 AM

Oh, wait. He was on a sitcom, Bachelor Father.

by Anonymousreply 95May 9, 2025 3:39 AM

Of course it was a comedy since his daughters were named Princess and Kitten.

by Anonymousreply 96May 9, 2025 3:41 AM

Yup, Hugh Fcuking Beaumont for the win!

by Anonymousreply 97May 9, 2025 3:44 AM

R95 Yes, but he wasn't the father. (He was an uncle.)

He WAS a father on "To Rome With Love."

R96 That was "Father Knows Best."

by Anonymousreply 98May 9, 2025 3:44 AM

West Wing was often hilarious so Jed Bartlett is the answer.

by Anonymousreply 99May 9, 2025 4:22 AM

Bartlet*

by Anonymousreply 100May 9, 2025 4:26 AM

by Anonymousreply 105May 9, 2025 12:40 PM
