The Basquiat alone. Also spotted a Leger.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | May 8, 2025 1:39 AM |
If that queen filming his jaunt around her home is employed by Madonna I'm sure he is no longer.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | May 8, 2025 1:47 AM |
R2 clearly didn't watch until the end.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | May 8, 2025 2:16 AM |
Surprisingly cluttered. I wasn't expecting her to have so many books, photos and knickknacks.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | May 8, 2025 2:22 AM |
lol Madonna at the end.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | May 8, 2025 2:26 AM |
As a viewer, I felt like we were doing something illegal - I got anxiety from it.
Then at the end you see Madona just sitting in the bathroom as usual saying Hi.
So it was her idea - but it was still cool. Nice stuff - not crazy - a good mix.
If she could only dress with as much constraint as her interior design.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | May 8, 2025 2:32 AM |
Madonna is a very wealthy woman because she had business smarts.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | May 8, 2025 2:35 AM |
R7 - she also had great advisors. She was steered toward buying art in the mid-late 80s, including quite a few Frida Kahlos and a lot of modernists.
She's one of the top 100 collectors. There's a whole Wiki about her art - exhibits she supported, artworks she purchased, artists and collaborations she's worked with.
This part of her life is not well known. Of course this talks about her own artwork in her career.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | May 8, 2025 2:41 AM |
Dreary.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | May 8, 2025 3:53 AM |
I thought it was Tim Burton's place. Yuck.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | May 8, 2025 3:58 AM |
What a drab place.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | May 8, 2025 4:37 AM |
I clocked all the lit candles and knew it was some sort of bit
by Anonymous | reply 12 | May 8, 2025 4:38 AM |
R7, she got married without a prenup. She had good advisors.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | May 8, 2025 4:38 AM |
I don't know why this is the first time in decades I smiled because of something Madonna did. She actually seemed cool.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | May 8, 2025 4:48 AM |
Liked seeing the school photos of the kids just casually sitting next to her RNR Hall of Fame award.
Like, "oh yeah ... that thing I picked up for 25 years of service in my job."
by Anonymous | reply 15 | May 8, 2025 5:09 AM |
LOL at R15 - 25 years of service
by Anonymous | reply 16 | May 8, 2025 5:51 AM |
What a boring apartment. Except for the art, I expected a little more razzle-dazzle.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | May 8, 2025 5:59 AM |
Well when you don't pay your brother to do your interior design, what do you expect?
by Anonymous | reply 18 | May 8, 2025 6:09 AM |
Madonna is strung out on pain pills.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | May 8, 2025 6:09 AM |
Madonna's more of a rizzle dizzle, r17.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | May 8, 2025 6:11 AM |
It’s amazing watching interviews of Madonna in the 90s and how astute and engaging she was. She always came across as comfortable in her own skin. Not now. She can’t even speak now. She’s always got a stick up her ass and sounds mentally retarded. I can’t think of anyone in the public eye who mentally regressed as she has. It’s weird.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | May 8, 2025 6:12 AM |
She loves her some Latin!
by Anonymous | reply 22 | May 8, 2025 6:12 AM |
Doesn't she own like 10 homes? It's not like she is there all of the time.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | May 8, 2025 6:53 AM |
If it’s New York City, it’s her main residence.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | May 8, 2025 8:53 AM |
The scariest part is that queen's garish red lipstick at the start.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | May 8, 2025 9:30 AM |
Addicted to pain pills.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | May 8, 2025 10:07 AM |
What does she do with all these silly gays in her posse when they grow up and settle down? She must have gone through thousands of them over the decades, I bet they're all just one and the same Gay in her head at this point.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | May 8, 2025 10:23 AM |
She gets bored with people quickly. Typical narcissist behavior.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | May 8, 2025 10:25 AM |
Once their initial thrill of "Omg, you're Madonna!" wears off, she dumps them and finds herself a new batch. Well, they find her. Megastars need that kind of adulation or they forget they're stars, a fate worse than death. Kinda like the gods in American Gods.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | May 8, 2025 10:33 AM |
Hi 👋🏻 … High 🚀
by Anonymous | reply 30 | May 8, 2025 10:46 AM |
Is she lighting up a crack pipe at the end?
by Anonymous | reply 31 | May 8, 2025 10:48 AM |
She loves her some bathroom. No wonder she was found hanging out in there.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | May 8, 2025 11:08 AM |
I thought it was a crack pipe too at first, but it's just a cigar.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | May 8, 2025 11:15 AM |
r32 What happens when one of them needs to use it? How do you tell Madonna to please leave her own bathroom?
by Anonymous | reply 34 | May 8, 2025 11:18 AM |
Razzle?! What year?!?
by Anonymous | reply 35 | May 8, 2025 11:20 AM |
Remember when Madonna was friends with Gwyneth? That was never going to last.
Also, speaking of Gwyneth, I was re-watching the second season of “The Comeback” with Lisa Kudrow and there is a scene where her old producer Jane has her front door propped open with her Best Documentary Short Oscar. I think that’s where Gwyneth got that idea.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | May 8, 2025 12:06 PM |
R32 So did Whitney...
by Anonymous | reply 37 | May 8, 2025 12:50 PM |
Looks small and unimpressive.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | May 8, 2025 1:17 PM |
I thought Madonna was lighting up a bong. I like her house- even though there is a lot of art, it doesn't look like a sterile museum, you could actually be comfortable sitting in any of those rooms.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | May 8, 2025 1:52 PM |
Ugly, austere, depressing, and not a place anyone actually "lives". Looks more like a place the old broad just maintains for photo shoots and an occasional overnight stay when she's in town.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | May 8, 2025 2:04 PM |
[Quote]What does she do with all these silly gays in her posse when they grow up and settle down?
I've got Clooney on speed dial.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | May 8, 2025 2:09 PM |
She really does live there full time. I used to live a block away at 81st and Madison and walked by it every day. Saw her Escalade tank leaving the garage many times.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | May 8, 2025 9:05 PM |
It's also not an apartment it's two houses joined together. She pissed off a lot of the neighbors when the city allowed her to create a NO PARKING zone in front of it.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | May 8, 2025 9:14 PM |
I love it. It looks like she actually lives there and enjoys it.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | May 8, 2025 9:23 PM |
Ole' Madge doesn't **enjoy** anything, R45.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | May 8, 2025 9:25 PM |
Too much clutter
by Anonymous | reply 47 | May 8, 2025 9:26 PM |
I like it, but I'm a fan of the minimalist look. Unlike many DLers who are prisspots and adore clutter and all of Mother's antiques everywhere.

r49 That Basquiat portrait is hilarious.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | May 8, 2025 11:06 PM |
There’s another video showing off her closet. What is wrong with her teeth? She can’t speak. She recently went overseas to a dentist. She has a lisp and she isn’t even wearing the grillz. Maybe they damaged her teeth. It’s weird.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | May 8, 2025 11:43 PM |
I remember back in her heyday she saw a house in Florida that she wanted to buy and told the owners. They said it's not for sale but I guess she made them an extraordinary offer because it became hers.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | May 8, 2025 11:51 PM |
She has black high gloss interior doors and dark wood floors like our house. Good taste Madonna!
by Anonymous | reply 53 | May 8, 2025 11:57 PM |
Too much black lacquer and knick knacks. The Madame X stools are atrocious. She doesn't have great taste. This looks likes a middle class woman from Michigan idea of taste and well, I guess it is.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | May 9, 2025 12:35 AM |
It’s gorgeous.
What do you reckon that Basquiat could get? I’d say over $100M.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | May 9, 2025 12:47 AM |
Its 3 massive UES townhouses that were purchased separately and combined. I wish he had focused on the art during his walk thru. [this was post met ball]
by Anonymous | reply 56 | May 9, 2025 2:51 AM |
I’m sorry, r56, but her art and the way she has it displayed is childish.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | May 9, 2025 3:03 AM |
I know she has a Picasso and several Frida Kahlo paintings. They must be in her other houses or in storage. They also could be in her bedroom or other parts of the house.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | May 9, 2025 3:50 AM |
Basquiat, Haring, Kahlo, Picasso, Holzer, Dali, Kusama... all very "childish" indeed. And quite embarrassing.
Why can't she display real art by real artists like Ansel Adams or Thomas Kinkade?
by Anonymous | reply 59 | May 9, 2025 6:09 AM |
Probably not that much, r55. The most expensive Basquiat went for 110M and that was a giant, very striking painting with lots of different colors.
Fuck off, r59. No one said she has an unimpressive art collection.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | May 9, 2025 6:14 AM |
She got those Kahlos back in the 80s before Kahlo became a "thing." They were much, much, much less $$$ than they would be now. An incredibly smart investment.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | May 9, 2025 9:53 AM |
Her Basquiat is a self portrait and very personal. You’d be surprised what a minimalist painting will go for. Especially tied to the most successful female artist of all time. He painted it for Madonna.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | May 9, 2025 10:48 AM |
r62 that one Basquiat could probably be sold for enough money for ten lifetimes.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | May 9, 2025 10:56 AM |
[quote]Fuck off, [R59]. No one said she has an unimpressive art collection.
[quote]but her art (and the way she has it displayed) is childish.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | May 9, 2025 11:53 AM |
Was that a drawing by Paul McCartney? It looked like his signature at the bottom. The caricature of her with “not for sale” written next to her.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | May 9, 2025 11:59 AM |
R65: That is the Basquiat that the last few posts have been discussing.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | May 9, 2025 12:04 PM |
I think I saw a Tamara de Lempicka on one of the walls. The artist was heavily featured in her Open Your Heart Video.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | May 9, 2025 12:30 PM |
For some reason, I am surprised it looks so comfortable,
Like a person could actually live there.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | May 9, 2025 12:36 PM |
The Basquiat is pretty unremarkable, though. Just a sketch, really.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | May 9, 2025 2:47 PM |
R69 You'd be shocked at what it would sell for. It says a lot without with very little. The art world loves that.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | May 9, 2025 6:54 PM |
R65
Thank you - I just looked at it for a second and saw “Paul”. Weird that I made that connection but assumed the Basquiat would be more colorful.
