Complete with "California" in giant letters on the side wall so you never forget where you are.
Tasteful friends, I present your new LA horse ranch

I'm guessing it's a horse ranch.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | May 7, 2025 7:32 PM |
Live next door to Ben Affleck!
by Anonymous | reply 2 | May 7, 2025 7:44 PM |
i kinda like the libraryish room with the stairs. The rest of the house is generic barn chic, and the backyard pool area seems small- not even a backyard kitchen. Not a lot of pics, which is curious for the price.

Didn't Ashton Kutcher build a house like this one?
by Anonymous | reply 4 | May 7, 2025 8:31 PM |
Is that out by Spahn?
by Anonymous | reply 5 | May 7, 2025 8:37 PM |
It looks like a hotel in Los Olivos
by Anonymous | reply 6 | May 7, 2025 8:40 PM |
No r5 it's a block away from West Sunset and a quarter mile from the Riviera CC.
$28 million for 9k square feet and a little more than a half acre. Pricy.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | May 7, 2025 8:40 PM |
I don't think id like it unless Brad Pitt was my neighbor. It's a lot of space. I do love horses, though.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | May 7, 2025 9:50 PM |
Ben Affleck is your neighbor. Literally next door. His house is much nicer.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | May 7, 2025 10:38 PM |
Hate the lack of color - who does black and white any more on that large of a scale? In SoCal?
Warm it up and it could be great.
Structurally great - but whoever did the interior should be drawn and quartered. It's hideous, basic and outdated.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | May 7, 2025 10:42 PM |
I wouldn't want to live next door to a drunken sot.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | May 7, 2025 11:07 PM |
This is Diane Keaton's house.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | May 7, 2025 11:11 PM |
The light fixtures are horrendous.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | May 7, 2025 11:35 PM |
thank you, r12. and she flips them constantly.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | May 7, 2025 11:45 PM |
R12 - ok - Diane actually wears a lot of black and white (like way too much), so I guess that makes more sense. Not that I approve.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | May 7, 2025 11:47 PM |
That’s all intentional—she doesn’t actually live in any of them.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | May 7, 2025 11:47 PM |
$30 mil and there's only one parking space?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | May 8, 2025 2:07 AM |
It’s gruesome. Weird how they build old instead of buying old and restoring.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | May 8, 2025 4:25 AM |
Well, it certainly showcases a lot of concepts, doesn't it?
The architect/designer/Cirque du Soleil artistic director brought along an "Idea Book" and the client just kept saying, "yes, I want that...and that...and that..."
by Anonymous | reply 20 | May 8, 2025 6:38 AM |
How does a ranch have a 1/2 acre? 🤔
by Anonymous | reply 21 | May 8, 2025 8:59 AM |
[quote]Ben Affleck is your neighbor. Literally next door. His house is much nicer.
Weird, because Ben and Jen Garner lived throughout most of their marriage in the large, Cliff May spread just to the north of this house, over the hilltop above it. 1700 San Remo. He must really like this neighborhood.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | May 8, 2025 4:46 PM |
I don't know if it's really a horse ranch. I imagine so because who would want to live in that barn farm chic looking place with no horses.
There's also a pool so maybe that's where they bathe them.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | May 8, 2025 4:50 PM |
California sign is sooo tacky and who would buy in this area of LA? You know it's liable to catch fire someday!
by Anonymous | reply 24 | May 8, 2025 4:52 PM |
So, room for a pony?
by Anonymous | reply 25 | May 8, 2025 5:04 PM |
R22 he might just have a thing for Cliff May designed homes.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | May 8, 2025 6:47 PM |
R21 Maybe they had one miniature pony.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | May 8, 2025 7:05 PM |
R4, I immediately thought it was Ashton Kutcher's house, but I guess not.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | May 8, 2025 7:17 PM |
Yet another autistic home where every view is a wall.
I believe it’s now $3 million where we get “I don’t want to see anyone and I don’t want anyone to see my stuff.”
by Anonymous | reply 29 | May 8, 2025 7:22 PM |
The Kutcher-Kunis house leans heavily into an edgy modern farmhouse aesthetic like this one, but it seems much grander.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | May 8, 2025 7:27 PM |
R30, that’s the key difference. Look outside of the windows you’ve linked and you have a view OUTDOORS. Look outside the enclosure at OP and you have a compound with walls. It’s perfect if you’re hiding from the mob, looters, or neighbors who wonder if you’re drunk again.
Newer builds ignore their surroundings - providing cookie-cutter bat caves for savants around the globe.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | May 8, 2025 9:56 PM |
Nothing in the listing says "horse ranch."
by Anonymous | reply 33 | May 8, 2025 10:03 PM |
Diane got a good price on those lamps so she bought 40 of them. 😱
by Anonymous | reply 34 | May 8, 2025 10:54 PM |
Ugh that's even worse if there's no horse there. It looks like that intentionally?
by Anonymous | reply 35 | May 9, 2025 3:34 AM |
The barn looks attached to the house. That doesn’t sound high end. Of course, if it is only a 1/2 acre….
by Anonymous | reply 36 | May 9, 2025 3:59 AM |
As with others in the thread, the food heat lamps are over done. Not worth the asking price.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | May 9, 2025 4:32 AM |
Affleck is back in the neighborhood specifically to be near his kids/Jen Garner's place.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | May 9, 2025 4:39 AM |
Affleck moved to this current house, a Cliff May spread, supposedly because his prior home (also a Cliff May spread) wasn't private enough and did keep the paps at bay.
This is not to be confused with his marital home with Garner, also a large May estate, on San Remo. As stated upthread, he seems to really like Cliff May houses.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | May 9, 2025 3:24 PM |
r39 it's ALSO because it's CLOSER TO HIS KIDS. Period.
You can't discount the shit traffic in LA...a house that may be 8 miles away could take you a damn half hour to get to with traffic, as everyone who has ever lived there will tell you.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | May 9, 2025 3:30 PM |
I was molest.... sorry I'm not gonna go there.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | May 9, 2025 3:39 PM |
I think the suggestion is one acre per horse
