Limetown with Jessica Biel and Stanley Tucci on Tubi
Limetown follows Lia Haddock, a journalist for American Public Radio (APR), as she unravels the mystery behind the disappearance of over 300 people at a neuroscience research facility in Tennessee.
This is actually a pretty good show and I was shocked I never heard of it. I realized it debuted on Facebook Watch and that’s why it never went anywhere.
Anyone watching and want to discuss?

Off topic, but does anyone else hate the name "Tubi"?

Depends on how the u is pronounced, r1.

I just binge watched the whole series tonight after seeing your thread, OP. I never would have know this existed otherwise. Seems basically no one else on the internet really did either, because seriously--Facebook Watch? Jessica Biel is one of the most underrated, underestimated actresses and has been for some time. She consistently delivers incredibly compelling performances and has an eye for interesting characters and projects. But for fuck's sake--whose idiotic idea was it to sell this property to Facebook Watch and then later, Tubi? The podcast this was based on was the number one rated podcast for two seasons and is still to this day one of the most popular scripted fiction podcasts ever released. This show could have been huge had it been produced and released on Hulu or Apple TV.

That’s exactly why I started this thread. It could still wind up with a cult following now that it’s on a platform people actually watch.

R3 Also, I do agree with you about Jessica Biel. I realize I’m looking at Jessica on the screen but she truly becomes the character and I get lost in her performance.

Jessica Biel, I have only seen her in one movie and she was miscast (The Illusionist) but I’ll watch Stanley Tucci in anything.

Did this really happen? I'm going to watch this today. Thanks OP. But, is this true? Did so many people disappear because they part of some experiment?

You articulated this much better than I would have. I agree 100%

R7 It really happened in the fictional world of the podcast and television series but not in the real world, no.

Never heard of this either, but it looks like it was dumped onto Facebook’s streaming platform which may be why it went unnoticed.
I agree that Biel is a good actress. She was easily the most talented of the kids in 7th Heaven, and her career has reflected it. She’s one of those people who is extremely famous (even more so now because of her marriage to Timberlake) but a lot of her work seems to fly under the radar—she’s always good, though.

Probably a true story. Like the CIA “disappearing” people from Chestnut Hill.

Historically, there was the lost Roanoke colony.

For someone so famous, she also flies under the radar. Unlike her dipsomaniac husband, she's never the subject of gossip.

Is she masturbating randomly throughout this series? Is her girlfriend really alive? I thought her dad was dead but she keeps calling him and leaving voicemails.

Too-bee, or not too-bee, R2?

I always thought she was a decent actress, but when she started spouting her anti-vax crap I wrote her off.

That’s rather unfortunate; I wasn’t aware of that R16.

Isn’t Biel the actress who complained that she has a hard time getting roles because she’s too beautiful?

R16 When did she do that?

Yeah, what's with all the slightly creepy masturbation and self-harm sprinkled in? There has to be more that happened to her as a child than just her mother taking off at 17. I didn't listen to the podcast so I was going in totally cold. Hoping a lot of questions are answered in season 2.
Biel definitely excells at type-a-woman-on-the-verge type roles. I could see her playing some kind of POW military character (either as the torturer or the tortured), and also some kind of extreme/Olympic athlete that isn't quite right in the head. She has that unique Gena Rowland ability to really make a nervous breakdown sing.

I really like Jessica Biel’s projects since The Sinner. She has carved herself a good niche.
