Scream Factory's "25th Anniversary" edition disc includes a new feature-length documentary about the making of the film. As a kid who came of age in the 2000s, this was one of my early forays into the horror genre. I still love it for the atmosphere and the performances, which are both fantastic. Will you be picking this up? I think shirtless Harrison Ford in 4K may be worth the price alone.

Bland TNT filler movie. Same with the Bone Collector.

I remember being pretty shocked by the reveal at the end.

I think it's an effective and very atmospheric thriller. Definitely didn't reinvent the wheel, but it is moody and has some genuinely creepy moments. Very good supporting cast, too (Miranda Otto, James Remar, Diana Scarwid, Amber Valletta, Wendy Crewson). Ford's turn as a true sociopath was shocking.

“The Ones Below” was so much better.

What I loved the most about this movie was the Spencer's lakeside home.

I think it's one of Michelle's best performances.

Yeah, R8. I was surprised to. Learn it wasn’t real and constructed for the film.

EW praised Diana Scarwid’s supporting performance in it. That probably made her happy.

And of course, Shannon O’Hara’s best friend in Oakdale, Harriet Corbman, has a scene.

At the time I remember being irritated by it because the trailer spoiled a lot of plot points and made the slow pace harder to take. I rewatched it years later after forgetting a lot about it and enjoyed it much more.

Lol, no R13. I don't need all that shit. It was just dull. I like horror movies like " Stir of Echoes."

Rewatched it tonight. I actually think it does hold up pretty well, despite some of the dated special effects. There is a lot of telegraphing/foreshadowing (i.e. the halothane in the lab) that seems on-the-nose in hindsight, but I think it mostly works for a first-time viewing. Michelle is excellent in it, and there is a lot of weird mystery to it all, especially the first act with the neighbors played by Miranda Otto and James Remar. Very vague, but portentously so. The supernatural goings-on in the house feel very "real" in the sense that they're not overly cinematic (though they become more outlandish as it goes on). There's a lot of subtlety that I appreciate, even though I've seen it before and know the plot twist.
