I don't have a suit and need to get one to wear to my niece's wedding. Can any of you stylish DL'ers give me some ideas on something fashionable and inexpensive? Something I can order on Amazon or get at a department store in Los Angeles.

You should have no problem going into any dept store and buying 'off the rack' with your body. Buy off the sale rack. Doesn't have to be a whole suit - maybe just a jacket which you can match up to pants and a shirt / tie you already have. Or buy a new shirt and tie. But you probably already have a decent pair of pants you can wear.
(I did this five years ago when my cousin got married and I needed a suit - went to JC Penney of all places, and found a jacket 'off the rack' and got many compliments on it - matched it with pants I had, but bought a new shirt and tie 'on sale' to go with it).

What’s your definition of “inexpensive,” OP?

What’s R2’s definition of a “suit”?

OP, we suspect the only suit you're fit for is a lawsuit.

How is it you've never needed a suit before? Never go to weddings or funerals? I don't live in LA so I don't know how casual things are there. You should at least own a sportcoat. But anyway, yeah, go to a department store or a discounts men's clothing/suit store.

You can probably get a decent sportcoat at Marshall's. If you never wear a suit, why go all out? You can get something fine off the rack.
