“Evidence shows that during the time Ye was under your care, you engaged in numerous inappropriate and dangerous practices that were far outside the bounds of any legitimate medical purpose or standard of care,” the letter states. “These actions were not isolated incidents but rather part of a pattern of improper conduct by you from 2024 through 2025 while Ye was your patient. Ms. Censori, as Ye’s spouse, was a witness to and impacted by many of these events (some of which took place at their shared residence).”
Connelly’s website touts him as a pioneer in luxury cosmetic dentistry for men, stating that “the world’s most influential men trust Dr. Thomas Connelly to craft their signature smiles. Designed for high-profile men, athletes, and those who demand the best.” He offers his services out of Beverly Hills, Manhattan offices and by appointment anywhere.
West, who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2016, displayed behavior that was erratic before and during the period when he was in Connelly’s care, but in those months, he did make several bizarre public statements and go on social media tirades, where he at one point praised Adolf Hitler and denounced the #MeToo movement.
West also purchased local advertising during Super Bowl LIX, in which he appeared for his fashion and shoe brand, Yeezy, that aired toward the end of the game. In the spot, West was shown lying down at the dentist, shooting the spot on an iPhone front-facing camera, with sunglasses on.
“I spent, like, all the money for the commercial on these new teeth,” the rapper said, showing off his diamond-encrusted teeth. “Once again, I had to shoot it on the iPhone.”
The following day, his website contained a single item — a black t-shirt emblazoned with a red swastika. The T-shirt is labeled on Kanye’s website as ‘HH-01,’ which is code for Heil Hitler.
Connelly is accused of a bevy of misdeeds in the letter, including instructing West on how to self-administer nitrous oxide without any medical supervision or safeguards. The dentist is accused of providing the rapper with tanks, masks, and other equipment and instructions on how to administer the “laughing gas” himself. The firm writes that the dentist “went so far as to deliver large ‘surgical-size’ nitrous oxide tanks to Ye’s residence, effectively enabling and encouraging him to inhale nitrous oxide outside of any medical setting.”
The letter noted that Connelly allowed this to carry on as West showed symptoms of neurological and behavioral distress. This can include confusion, memory lapses, incoherence, unpredictable changes in mood, impaired motor function, and other cognitive and behavioral problems, the letter states. It also notes that Connelly wrote apologies for his actions.
“On multiple occasions, you acknowledged in writing that your treatment of Ye was improper,” the attorney’s letter to Connelly states. “In various communications (including text message exchanges and/or emails), you apologized to Ye and Ms. Censori and admitted that you had made mistakes in your treatment decisions.”
The letter also notes that Connelly extracted “exorbitant payments” from West for his services, to the tune of $50,000 per month, and alleges “cumulatively reaching into the hundreds of thousands of dollars.”
In addition to the stream of nitrous oxide, Connelly allegedly supplied to West, he is accused of administering the drug propofol on multiple occasions in non-medical settings. One alleged incident took place at a hotel in Las Vegas, according to the letter, and another saw the dentist administer the drug, then discharge West from his care prior to verifying his state of mind.
“As a result, in this instance, Ye suffered extreme mental and physical distress leading to urgent medical care,” the letter states. “In another instance, evidence suggests additional improper usage of propofol or similar controlled substances when Ye had diminished capacity and was not aware of or capable of knowingly consent for the usage of this substance due.”
