Anna Graham Hunter alleged that, while she was 17 and working as an intern on a TV production of Death of a Salesman, Hoffman made inappropriate jokes and comments around her and asked her to give him foot massages.

I'm sure his legacy was tarnished a bit by various accusations of being a sexist pig and/or a handsy one.
But I think his legacy has faded a bit just due to the passage of time. He was in several truly loved and/or iconic movies, but the last one that really fits under that particular label - Rain Man - was 37 years ago.
