Big lawsuits the studio rejected the film. Lots of people in trouble. Money down the drain.

I enjoyed Part 1 and was looking forward to seeing Part 2 (and 3 & 4, if they ever get made). But it really should have been realeased on a streamer as a mini-series.

In my whole career I've only seen a major studio reject a movie once. That was Margaret by Kenneth Longeran. But for different reasons.

Hes an asshole who thinks hes smarter than anyone. He got lucky and had some decent films ( Im one of the few who liked Water world and the Postman ) but he's not the giant superstar he seems to think he is . Just like on Yellowstone .He acted like the show would collapse without him. It didnt .

I still haven't seen it, but I'm a sucker for a sprawling, ambitious western ("Heaven's Gate" remains a favorite of mine). I just bought a copy on Amazon to watch this weekend. I've heard the cinematography is gorgeous and the acting is top-notch, but there are some mixed opinions about the narrative structure. Some of the cast really piqued my interest. I actually really enjoy Sienna Miller onscreen, and I love Jena Malone and Abbey Lee.
My mom is from Montana and I have family/have spent a lot of time there. I always enjoy seeing that landscape on film.
