The Gays and Tennis - Part 182 Clay Continuing Currently

On to Rome, Hamburg, Geneva and then Roland Garros. Enjoy the eye candy that is Zlatan Dzumhur, Damir’s brother, “fashion stylist” and apparently sometime tennis player (amassed $36 as a professional tennis player). Thank you R497, R509, R510 and R514 of the prior thread for introducing us to Zlut-an

Fortunate to spend yesterday at the Madrid Open, with incredible eye candy matches. Tommy's mustache is a mistake, but he has lovely thighs. Khachanov does indeed look like a Helmsworth, albeit with less muscle. Musetti is lovely -- he's the only one who doesn't wear a baseball cap or a headband, presumably because it would mess up his perfect hair -- he's also tiny compared to the other blokes, although it doesn't seem to matter. The Dmitrov-Fearnley match comprised one game (leftover from yesterday's blackout); Dmitrov is, indeed, lovely, but Fearnley is a doll. Draper and Berretini are both as beautiful closeup as you'd imagine -- I don't understand why the latter retired after a set (no evidence of injury into the tiebreaker).

It's a great place to watch tennis -- no bad seats in the main stadium (unlike the Grand Slams), and Court 3 (main stadium tkts get access) is about as close to the players as you can get.

On the tennis front, I haven't been to live tennis in 6 years, and the game has changes, I think for the better -- the power, the focus, the accuracy, the shots that have no margins of error. No tedium of Nadal's OCD every serve and Djokovic's annoyance (I am already writing him off as yesterday's news). The men are much hotter, as well.

Madrid is the nicest city in the world.

Thanks for your observations, r3. Are you going back today?

Thank you, Madrid Correspondent R3

I always enjoy DL G&Ter's live reports. You are so right about Madrid - an amazing city. I haven't been for about a decade but such a fun and exciting vibe.

RFC has anger issues. I totally believe the allegations made towards him.

r3, Do you watch/listen to the "Nothing Major" podcasts? Those American boys were saying they were never able to figure out Madrid as a city. Didn't think the Caja was that Magica, either.

Happy for Ruud!
