Is there an international rule about capturing journalists covering war zones and torturing them?

Geneva Convention?

Those rules do not apply to despotic but important countries such as Russia, Saudi Arabia, and Israel. Reports indicate over 145 journalists have been killed in Palestine since October 2023, with at least 35 targeted in the line of duty. Saudi Prince MBS killed with impunity.

Under Article 79 of Additional Protocol I to the Geneva Conventions, journalists operating in conflict zones are to be treated as civilians, provided they do not engage in hostilities. This classification affords them protection from targeting, arbitrary detention, torture, and extrajudicial killing. Violations of these protections can constitute war crimes under international humanitarian law.

Countries Implicated in Journalist Killings Without Accountability

Additionally, several shit hole countries have been identified where journalists have been killed with little to no accountability. So it's not just countries that can throw their weight around: Somalia is ranked as the worst offender for impunity in journalist killings for eight consecutive years. Numerous journalists have been murdered with full impunity for Syria, especially during the civil war period. Despite being in a non-war context, Mexico remains one of the deadliest countries for journalists, with many killings going unpunished.

Stephen Miller just pinned this article to his office "idea board."

There are also rules about invading other countries, poisoning people etc.

Are there any government rules anymore?

You’re such a stupid fucking moron r1. People like you literally make my blood boil with your stupidity and bullshit. You have nothing to say about the torture Hamas commits against innocent Israelis and their own fucking people? I could go on but I’m sick of it. Continue sticking your tongue up the assholes of terrorists that would kill you if given the chance.

The topic is not Israeli war crimes against Palestinians, you double moron with low reading comprehension. The topic is the killing of journalists.
