So she didn't die in the air plane crash after all?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | April 29, 2025 4:52 PM |
Well, at least her school had an impeccable reputation.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | April 29, 2025 4:52 PM |
From the performances I've seen, she was a very wooden actress.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | April 29, 2025 4:52 PM |
She was my favorite pointer sister.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | April 29, 2025 4:54 PM |
She was quite good as Rebecca Wentworth on "Dallas."
by Anonymous | reply 7 | April 29, 2025 5:01 PM |
She'll always be remembered for her breed.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | April 29, 2025 5:02 PM |
I think she UNDERREACTED!

Thanks R11 and R13.
I was pretty sure the social media posts were right, since she was 100.

[quote]Ms. Pointer was one of the last surviving legends from Tennessee Williams' cavalcade, having performed in the original tour of A Streetcar Named Desire.
Holy shit, end of an era for sure.

I could see her dirty pillows!
by Anonymous | reply 18 | April 29, 2025 5:52 PM |
R3- For me that was THE saddest moment on Dallas when Rebecca Wentworth died after the plane crash. Not even Bobby Ewing death was as sad to me.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | April 29, 2025 5:54 PM |
If that dickless son of hers had been man enough to take on JR himself, she would be alive.
But noooo, she had to get in the Wentworth jet and solve his problems for him.

r3 Nurse in the back with the side-eye being like, why they gotta film this nonsense at my hospital?
by Anonymous | reply 21 | April 29, 2025 6:02 PM |
This is the photo and note that Priscilla gave to Victoria when Priscilla left Dallas.

I’ll drink to that!
by Anonymous | reply 24 | April 29, 2025 6:16 PM |
RIP Rebecca Barnes Wentworth. It should have been Cliff in that plane!
by Anonymous | reply 26 | April 29, 2025 6:53 PM |
How did she die?
by Anonymous | reply 27 | April 29, 2025 7:55 PM |
She died by Jazzercise, r27.

I always liked that Mrs. Snell was a daydrinker that couldn't stand that religious nutcase Margaret White.

On Instagram, Amy wrote that her mom died “peacefully in her sleep at the age of 100, hopefully to run off with her 2 adoring husbands and her many dogs. She most definitely will be missed.”

That's Priscilla Lane, r34.

R26- She was one of my favorite characters on Dallas ( that is one of the main reasons that scene with her dying was the saddest for me)in the early 1980's which is when Dallas was the best. Here is the scene where Cliff meets his mother for the first time- since he was 5 years old.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | April 29, 2025 9:08 PM |
RIP Beautiful lady.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | April 29, 2025 9:14 PM |
I love that scene, too, R37. It was also one of Ken Kercheval's favorite scenes in Dallas.

Her lovely daughter mentioned her when she was in the Criterion Closet less than a month ago,

Boy, film, TV, Broadway... who gets custody of the In Memoriam?

Of course DLers are fixated on Dallas. Those nighttime soaps from the 80s are with them forever and always.

[quote] She was the last living cast member of Carrie.
WTF?
Sissy Spacek, William Katt, John Travolta, Nancy Allen, Betty Buckley... all alive.
Not to mention her own daughter Amy Irving.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | April 30, 2025 12:28 AM |
Amy Irving was married to Steven Spielberg for only four years and walked away with a $100 million divorce settlement. Four years!
She is the queen of GOALS.
