My grandmother knew Sinatra through his wife Nancy. She was older than Nancy but they went to the same church in Jersey City. This was in 1939, and it was right before Sinatra started to get famous.
She told us kids he was “scrawny” 😂 and “not a good man at all.” She would not elaborate.
But our mother told us that our grandmother had given her some specifics — when Sinatra was famous and would be played on the radio or show up in a movie, my grandmother would always pull a face. She told my mother he was “immoral,” a philanderer who saw women while he was married to “a very good Catholic woman.”
What did your grandmother think of Frank Sinatra?
