To my friends who are mad because I told their son he’s adopted.

I mentioned it at dinner with their son and some friends in the context of a discussion about overseas adoption. ARE THE TWO IF YOU NUTS? HOW COULD YOU THINK HE DIDN’T KNOW? You’re scotch Irish your husband is French Italian . YOUR SON IS KOREAN! He’s 42 freak’n years old. He told me he’s known he was adopted since kindergarten and he saw he was different from all the other kids, not to mention mom and dad. Never bothered him much. He figured being different made him special. He still does. Seriously, how could you think he didn’t know?
