Ann-Margret turns 84 today! Here's my look at '65's "Bus Riley's Back in Town." It's two movies in one: a William Inge small town slice of life AND A-M's "Kitten With a Whip" persona wreaking havoc on poor Bus Riley (Michael Parks)--who probably wished he stayed in the service! A great cast and forward-thinking story AND Ann-Margret whipping her heightened hair! My look:
FYI, while there was a time "Bus Riley" was hard to come by, now there are excellent copies of this Universal epic all over YouTube. Enjoy!

Here's a scene of A-M vamping Michael Parks' Bus at a local juke joint like she's in a sex trance!

Saw this on TV in my teens in the 70s. The attempted gay seduction scene shocked me.

I get this confused with that Rosie O'Donnell movie.

This used to be on TV all the time in the ‘60s and ‘70s, thanks for reminding me of it.

Got to meet her twice. She was very sweet and of course beautiful. I have "Tommy" British Special Edition DVD and a limited edition "Bye Bye Birdie" Blu-ray signed. Thanks CHILLER!

I actually like the Bus Riley side of the story, per my review. The A-M sex kitten side, not so much, it's like a drag act! Here's a scene of cute Michael Parks in his boxers, trying to live with all the women folk! And yeah, the gay come-on scene was pretty even-handedly done...

Crahan Denton more famously played Walter Cunningham in TKaM, subject to an entailment while owing $ to Atticus and whose son overdoes the syrup to Scout’s great disdain.

My favorite line by dishy divorcee Joy to charming vacuum salesman Bus Riley! "Why be square, I always say? The world's round!"

I’m an Aries married to a Capricorn. I’m a know-at-all and he’s a stubborn mule. Opposites attract!
