He's a weak, drunken cunt.

Just saw a Batman episode (they're running a binge on the Catchy channel), and imagine my surprise to see a young-ish Shelley Winters playing the leader of a convict gang and smoking a cigar!
Yup -- she was a real broad.

R51 No broads there.
Broads are friendly and always willing to help. They believe in live and let live. They believe in equality for all. They want full rights for LGBTQ people. They don’t suffer fools, so they don’t tolerate bigots, xenophobes, misogynists or MAGA. They don’t pretend to be Christians when they don’t know what that means and they certainly don’t judge.
Source? Me. 63 year old broad.

Lindsey is most certainly not a broad. They are a faded Southern belle, like Blanche Dubois or the narrator of "Something Cool"

R32, I wouldn’t have thought of Sheree North, but I wholeheartedly agree. She just seemed like a broad - ready for fun, kind of unfazable in a seen-it-all-but not wholly jaded way. I thought she was perfect for Lou Grant. MTM blew it by not developing her character after the holes in the female cast left by Rhoda’s and Phyllis’s departures.

So what's the difference between a "dame" and a "broad"?
And how do they both differ from a "battleaxe"?
Also - two more classic broads from Hollywood's golden age:
Joan Blondell - perhaps the queen of all broads
Ann Sothern - in the "Maisie" movies
by Anonymous | reply 75 | April 27, 2025 10:19 PM |
Agree with Joan Blondell, don't know Ann Sothern well enough to comment.
What about Ann Sheridan? What little I know seems to qualify. She had those "sleepy, just woke up from a satisfying fuck" eyes.
