What I Didn’t Know About the Egg Industry Horrified Me
“ I had no idea that while the (female chicks) enjoyed shelter and sunshine, fresh bugs and freedom, their newborn brothers faced a gruesome fate shared by 6.5 billion male chicks around the world each year. These male birds can’t lay eggs but also aren’t raised for meat. Because they come from egg-laying breeds, they don’t grow big or fast enough to be used for food. So they are ground up alive or gassed to death.
The practice is especially egregious because unlike many baby mammals and songbirds, which are born blind, naked and helpless, newborn chicks are capable little creatures. Within hours of hatching, they are standing, running and successfully finding food. When they are thrown into the grinder or gasser at only a day old, these male chicks are alert and aware.”

Our society needs to crack down hard on animal abuse in industrialized farming. It's disgusting and heartbreaking. Farming shouldn't give you the right to torture animals. Nothing should.

I'm not going to read that, but I only buy pasture raised eggs. I image no chicks are being ground up alive or gassed to death from those farmers.

But you choose not to publish this article in 2024. Your position then was "Joe Biden' is personally responsible for high cost of eggs.
Now that you have achieved your goal of reinstalling your orange deity to power, your position is the poultry industry is violent and we should not be consuming eggs at all.

An animal rights activist here in Ireland told me you can't even trust organic eggs--in fact, the conditions on some of those farms are among the worst when it comes to chickens. And she's made this her life's work, visiting countless farms and rescuing numerous hens.
