That said, I know it has only been a few episodes since the new writers took over, but not sure I am caring for it. Too chatty without any point to storyline. I hope they are just doing readjustment to move forward.

Where the hell did Dr. Mark Green go? Multiple actors were cast with him and they’ve disappeared. Did the actor, Jonah Robinson, become unavailable? I know he was doing a play. I don’t get why this went nowhere. .

Dr. Green was THE character that served no purpose at all but had so much potential.

R26 Jonah Robinson (Dr. Mark Green) was never on contract, so 1) TPTB are not bound by a contract to play him, and/or 2) He can go work on other projects at will.

During times of transition, these are often the roles that get cut back or cut altogether, because they're already seen as minor to the story, so the NuWriters may not see a need to play them or they want to spend the budget for talent elsewhere.

Example: JPL is also not on contract, but they may have cut Robinson's minimal episodes in order to play JPL more per month than originally planned. He's sometimes getting more episodes per month now than actors who are actually on contract. That money has to come from somewhere.

Jonah was cast and played because of his hairy legs, but now that Ron is gone that feature won't factor into things, so I wouldn't get my hopes up about seeing"Mark."

His only utility was on his first show as a tease to Leo with his jog through the park and the cryptic conversation leaving questions about his sexuality. Hot guy and wish they utilized him.

R35 Head Writers do give instructions on what they're looking for in the character, though. In fact, they sometimes even tell EPs about someone they have in mind for a role. They will also look at audition tapes or even sit in if-when there's some question as to who among the final candidates looks or sounds right for the part. In Ron's case, I could easily see him telling the casting department to make sure actors wore shorts when they auditioned.
