Trump's tireless ego must have reflected upon how the ceremony for his own passing won't get close to the hallowed grandeur of the late Pope's funeral. Instead of world leaders - who'll make apologies for other pressing business - micro-royalty, low-level cabinet ministers, and junior diplomats, all unknown to the viewing public, will be forced grudgingly to attend for career reasons. I love how the crowd gave Zelinksky's arrival loud applause (the only leader to receive applause) and everybody ignored Trump when he arrived. Some of them turned around. Even better was Macron hugging Zelinksy in greeting and when Trump went to hug Macron - he stepped back and sort of flicked him away. Totally snubbed him. Ha! The whole world hates Trump except the other dictators. Trump had probably forgotten that he had made some nasty comments about Marcon and France recently on social media. When men wore suits more regularly, a black suit was unusual in daytime. It would still strike me as a little weird to see a man in a halfway decent wool suit that was black. The suit is too light and if he was specifically instructed to wear a black tie then not wearing one is the bigger offense, not choosing a suit three shades too light (but it’s definitely too light and looks bad). Zelensky looked a lot better, but was far more inappropriately dressed than Trump.

The criticism of his suit is interesting to me because it follows a pattern - he does something worthy of criticism but people latch on to the wrong aspect of it and that makes it very easy for his supporters to dismiss any criticism of him. And cry “fake news!” Because if you are reporting on a story about how he violated a suggested dress code then you need to be accurate in describing the dress code and preferably include it verbatim. I’m pretty sure Prince William didn’t violate the dress code. I mean, WTF do he and his staff do except figure out what protocol is and follow it? Whatever the dress code was, he got it right.
