We are going to Netcost Market in Northeast Philly today

If you have been to a NetCost before, then you know it is the kind of place that would make a Datalounger weep in anticipation of visiting it.

Lots of central and Eastern European foods and products. And all the men in gray or black track suits.

I always think the prepared foods are going to be delicious. I am always disappointed. Except for the soups. Those are great.

Isn't a lot of Eastern European food somewhat bland? I like the simplicity of bland sometimes.

American versions of Central and Eastern European food can be bland. But if you follow the recipes used by folks who live there, there is a ton of flavor. Lots of spice, but not hot.
