Hard as it is to believe, this is what American voters wanted. Who knew that 77 million Americans essentially want to live with less financial stability in an oppressive dumbed down version of Russia?

Couldn’t movies/tv easily make another country or countries the Center of their business?

Trump has been saying he wants to come after Hollywood for a long time. They hate him so it's obvious why he wants retribution and to control them.

There's some real issues that Hollywood has. The discriminatory hiring and promotion practices need to end. Also, Disney/Marvel/Lucasfilm needs to be fixed and a government case could help accomplish that. I would add reforming the awards processes, but I think that's hopeless and will never be about merit.

It's a private entity industry R5. Hollywood is responsible for a sizeable chunk of the American brand over the past 100 years.

Hollywood can't be regulated by Trump. He doesn't have the authority. He can revoke their entertainment industry non-profits tax exempt status but not much more except whine and lament about how badly they've treated him.
