Medication shortages…
Anyone experiencing this?
I take a specific medication that is in high demand. I was told that my script would be filled next week, & just learned that it won’t be filled for another 10-11 days, hopefully.
It doesn’t matter what pharmacy I reach out to. They all have the same fulfillment constraints, & suddenly, it feels like it did when CoViD-19 hit the streets, & supply chains became useless.
Doesn’t it suck that every time we get a certain administration in office, shit just breaks down & systems barely function?
I’m PISSED. When Biden was POTUS, this issue resolved itself, & now it’s 2020-2021 all over again.

We're not gonna take it. We need to rev it up.

Trader Joe's is constantly out of items like Slivered Almonds which I need for my Dream Bars. They've been out of them for a month or more. The food supply and all supply systems are STILL fucked up.

They aren't [italic]STILL fucked up,[/italic] they were better but fragile. It only took a hiccup to throw a lot of systems off-kilter, and we haven't really even begun to see the consequences of the Trump Tariff Taxes. Walmart, Target and Home Depot CEOs told Trump that if he doesn't get the China tariff settled soon, we'll have empty shelves in two months and we can forget Christmas this year because there will be no toys, no tools, no electronics, and a lot less clothing. The factories that manufacture Christmas decorations are reporting zero orders in what is traditionally their busy season.
Trump was so stupid to pick a fight with China right now. We are far more dependent on them than they are on us. They've halted rare Earth mineral shipments which we have to have in order to build everything from batteries to the military equipment they go into and we've used up our stockpile that we built in the 1950s and 60s (about $50 [bold]B[/bold]illion in 1950s dollars to about $800 [bold]M[/bold]illion today). They turned away delivery of two Boeing jets refusing to pay 154% tariff and cancelled orders in the hundreds of $Billions. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that they'll take over the plane building business given this little nudge, so it's another industry — we built — we can kiss goodbye thanks to Trump.
Xi is handling Trump brilliantly, refusing to engage in this game while subtly knifing him in the wallet as they single-handedly push the dollar down, bond yields up, and force the Fed to hold interest steady when Trump demands a decrease. And meanwhile, they cancelled soy bean orders amounting to something like $1.6 Billion and shifted their supply chain for beef and pork to Australia and South America, so our farmers and ranchers are going to take another major Trump-caused hit (but we told them, they all voted for him knowing he was going to cause pain... so they're getting what they voted for).

Is your medication Levothyroxine? When I reordered most recently, instead of getting my usual 100 pills, they only gave me 30 and there was an insert in the package about the "nationwide shortage" of this drug. I take eight of these pills a week and hope they resolve this soon.

When I read that, I involuntarily felt like slapping you R4.

R4, use a different nut. I use walnuts.
Ha! He's such a moron to pick a fight with the Chinese. Especially after the peasant remark from Vance, I knew they wouldn't given an inch.

Remember in the pandemic the Chinese told their people to stay at home and those who didn't or were difficult about it had their doors welded shut.
The Chinese don't fuck around and they never back down.

During covid, the only company that made my anti-depressants stopped making them, claiming there was an ingredient that they could no longer procure.
Since this medication received a black box warning some years after I (and many others) had been taking it, it is seldom prescribed now. But the people who'd been on it were left without their meds, and all of us were really suffering. I was lucky -- I got my ready-to-retire lesbian VA shrink to write me a script I could fill in regular pharmacies, and I stocked up (for big $) so I could taper off. But it was still a nightmare, since I ran out eventually. I was very relieved when the company starting making it again, and I could go back to the VA and get it.
So hang in there, OP. Maybe things will turn around. And I hate to suggest that you throw money to Bezos, but if you check Amazon, the may have your meds there. They have mine.

What are dreams?

It’s not necessarily tariff-related. You might want to do some more online research. There are subreddits where people talk about issues with specific medications and track shortages and their causes.
