The baby boomers are now superfluous at this point.
The new elders in charge are Gen X + Older Millennials, aren't they?

Yes.
I am so curious how this will change things.

Gen X-ers are now 45-60, the age range of most people in charge. Boomers are technically 61-79, or quickly aging out of relevance.

Gen X can now officially stop worrying about Baby Boomers. They leaving.
Older millennials are bumping up though.

I’m glad you understand, OP.
The topic: moles and the lovely men they possess.
He’s Jason Fernandez and sometimes there is a big mole and sometimes there is not.

Boomers and Generation Jones are the last ones who'll get to retire.

Older Millennials are the real halfway point
by Anonymous | reply 7 | April 26, 2025 12:18 AM |
Older millennials are still under 45.

The housing market begs to differ, OP.

The Boomers really did cling on for dear life, didn't they? Politicians are so old nowadays. When Obama was elected, it looked as though he'd be the last Boomer US president. Look how that turned out.

The Boomers are still hanging on where it counts with wealth, top political offices, and boardrooms. It’s more like they're moving from "running everything" to "owning everything." Give it 10–15 years.
In lower and mid-levels of power, Gen X is moving up followed by Older Millennials.

R10 I always thought Obama was Gen x, or at most, on the cusp
by Anonymous | reply 12 | April 26, 2025 2:02 AM |
R12 He was born in 1961, so technically Boomer, but cusp--Gen Jones.

Working is for old people.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | April 26, 2025 2:07 AM |
It actually took the pushy older millennials to get the Boomers out.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | April 26, 2025 9:04 AM |
I'm not convinced that the Boomers aren't in charge until we get a younger president.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | April 26, 2025 10:18 AM |
Gen X is just a temporary stopgap. Nothing more, nothing less.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | April 26, 2025 11:04 AM |
Whoa, whoa whoa. You kids may not have even seen your last Silent Generation President.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | April 26, 2025 11:23 AM |
Boomers still have all the wealth. It’s time to inherit!
by Anonymous | reply 19 | April 26, 2025 11:28 AM |
Gen X made zero impact on American life
by Anonymous | reply 20 | April 26, 2025 11:31 AM |
R15 they are also the actual children of Boomers. Only diamond can cut diamond.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | April 26, 2025 11:33 AM |
I am convinced the anti-vax movement was a bunch of children hoping the flu would kill grandma and grandpa and start the greatly anticipated great wealth transfer.

Nobody has to die and there's no need to be so dramatic. But it is baffling that certain entities insist on hanging onto power even when they won't live long enough to face the repercussions of many of their political decisions. You'd think they might want to actually enjoy retirement and cede control to those who actually will live through the upcoming shitstorm.
