Oh wow “The Last of Us” just went “Season 2 of Twin Peaks” tonight

I think it's a mistake. They should have at least waited until the end of the season.

The winter mountain scenery was spectacular. I liked that part.

The last time I was this dismayed over a tv show was when Negan in The Walking Dead came along. I stopped watching it after that.

Season 2 of Twin Peaks was excellent…until the reveal of Laura’s killer. Then it spun its wheels for like 8 episodes of bullshit, then got back on track for the last few.

Did TLOU just reveal someone’s murderer and kill the suspense for the rest of the season?

R4 they killed off Joel, the star of the show played by Pedro Pascal.

R1 absolutely the worst thing they could have done. If they needed to kill him off, they should have, I agree, waited to the season finale. Then, people may be emotionally invested enough in Ellie to watch the subsequent season without Pascal.

The show will not be renewed, this was such a catastrophic decision it could only happen at Zaslav’s HBO.

I actually thought they'd be smart and refigure the plot since Pedro is so insanely popular.

I totally expected his death at the end of season 1. I was wondering how he would have lasted an entire second season, so this didn't surprise me.

I'll watch the next episode, but I cannot see myself staying interested enough to care.

It's harder in the game, emotionally, because the voice actors made both Ellie and Joel so much more likeable than in the show. I do not like Bella Ramsey as Ellie one bit.

Anyway yeah. I was wondering if they'd fix or change the timeline for Joel's death. I guess not. Oh well.

R18 does Ellie eventually die as well and we get a completely new main character? I was mainly invested in her because of Joel, but now that he’s gone, I don’t really care about just her.

No, Ellie is still alive, R20. I'm not watching the show, but Abby becomes a new co-lead, at least in the game.

The game makes you play half of it as Abby - after she kills Joel. It's supposed to make you feel sympathy for her.

I LOVED TLoU pt. 1. It's very hard to love Pt. 2, so buckle up if they're doing a straight adaptation.

I will never ever EVER understand the appeal of this Pedro guy, either his ‘acting’ ability or why so many think he’s beautiful. He’s just generally a gross guy to look at and his acting is nearly as hamfisted as Bobby Cannavale.

He's got the charm and charisma and the whole protective vibe going for him in this show and the Mandalorian.

I first saw him as Oberyn in Game of Thrones and, while not gorgeous, his personality (or the way he played that character) was incredibly attractive to me. Made him absolutely fuckable. I've been a fan since.

Same, r3 Negan killed WD for me, I couldn't stand him and was done with the show.

I adore Pedro but he's not aging well.

He had a hot bod and a sexy alluring face when young and now he's looking like an old testicle.

The actress playing Ellie reminds me of Haley Joel Osment (adult version without the facial hair).

I think his looks are at their peak right now. Even in Game of Thrones he looked too young. Now he's a hot daddy for sure. Love the greying hair, wrinkly face, lived in look. He's got at least five more years of hotness.

R26 he probably is wearing aging makeup. The girl said he was 60, but pedro is only 50, so they aged him up on the show.

Yeah, that’s what i thought, r30. Was startled by the 60 reference and that was why i asked, he doesn’t look well heavy and lined .

Was shocked about his death. And mostly by his lack of defense. Refreshing, plotwise, that he did not make a speach.

I sort agree with R23. I’m sick of Pedro, though, I do find him hot in a Charles Bronson sort of way. But he’s pretty much in everything now and he has never been better than his role in GOT.

Since then, he has made a career out of being miscast. I liked him more when he wasn’t so oversaturated in everything.

They had to age him up because Sarah was 13 when she died which would make her 33 in the current time-line.

I think Bella is quite good as Ellie.

Pedro Pascal is a good example of why gay actors still stay in the closet for professional reasons. He would never have the career he has right now if he'd come out.

Joel’s tv death hit way harder than Joel’s game death. I wasn’t even mad at Abby in the game, but now I want to kill her.

R10 Me too. Dumb. Move. I've played both games and knew it was coming, but I figured they'd stretch. Really stupid.

R37 I ended up LIKING Abby and hating Ellie by the end of part 2. I mean...he had it coming.

I thought Abby came off like a psycho. Even her friends (most of them) thought she had crossed the line.

By the end of the season I need to see Ellie either kill Abby or kill someone from that group, preferably Abby’s boyfriend or the cutie who kicked her. If neither one of those things happen, I’m done with the show.

Pedro Pascal is really unusual looking. I think he's handsome (and most people do), but it's not in a conventional way.

What really makes him a star, though, is his charisma. It's off the charts. I'm so surprised it took "Game of Thrones" to discover it in him--he struggled as an actor for years before that.

R31 I have to second that - he sat there listening to Abby blather on when he could have easily smashed her head into the floor or something.

I must say that that the actress who plays Abby did a great job in the scene where she kills Joel, as much as I hated it.

I like the new girl. Looks like Jeffrey Wright will be on the show next episode.
