Clooney Looks AWFUL

WTF?

Abe Vigoda refuses to die!

by Anonymousreply 1April 17, 2025 3:33 AM

R1 Spot on with that call

by Anonymousreply 2April 17, 2025 3:34 AM

Yeah, he's lost a LOT of weight, particularly in his face. He looks ill.

by Anonymousreply 3April 17, 2025 3:36 AM

I think he lost weight for his play. George takes his craft very seriously (just kidding).

by Anonymousreply 4April 17, 2025 3:38 AM

Guys, he's portraying Edward R. Murrow on Broadway in GOOD NIGHT AND GOOD LUCK.

Calm the F down.

by Anonymousreply 6April 17, 2025 3:39 AM

R5 Cancer stick addict Edward R Morrow actually looks healthier than Clooney

by Anonymousreply 7April 17, 2025 3:41 AM

This idiot wants Wes Moore to be the 2028 nominee? He’s bankrupted Maryland and is raising taxes to dig himself out of the hole.

by Anonymousreply 8April 17, 2025 3:42 AM

Must be that awful wife.

by Anonymousreply 9April 17, 2025 3:44 AM

I'll take her off his hands!

by Anonymousreply 10April 17, 2025 3:45 AM

He's not a young man anymore.

by Anonymousreply 11April 17, 2025 3:47 AM

William Holdenesque

by Anonymousreply 12April 17, 2025 3:47 AM

He looks 75. Kevin Costner is 70 and looks younger than him. And that shoe polish hair color makes it worse because you can separate his startling dark hair from his face.

by Anonymousreply 13April 17, 2025 3:53 AM

He was aging well for a long time but it looks like the aging process has finally caught up with him

by Anonymousreply 14April 17, 2025 3:54 AM

He’s so smug in that interview, pretending that Biden didn’t sink the battleship nominated Kamala after Clooney’s op-ed.

Biden knew Kamala would lose.

by Anonymousreply 16April 17, 2025 3:56 AM

He now has the face he deserves.

by Anonymousreply 17April 17, 2025 4:08 AM

R8 fucking liar stfu

by Anonymousreply 18April 17, 2025 4:12 AM

This is not normal aging. There has to be a health issue involved.

by Anonymousreply 19April 17, 2025 4:13 AM

Tapper is interviewing him in the theatre. It looks to me like Clooney is in his stage make-up, which is, of course, designed to make him look older.

by Anonymousreply 20April 17, 2025 4:21 AM

His face is lacking in fat making him look gaunt and haggard. He does look unwell. Hope he's ok.

by Anonymousreply 21April 17, 2025 4:30 AM

[quote] Biden knew Kamala would lose.

If that is found to be true, Biden will be the villain of the American story.

by Anonymousreply 22April 17, 2025 4:36 AM

He doesn’t look sick or unwell, he just looks like an old man.

He’s always looked old to me - I always thought that was his appeal.

He’s just wrinkled and saggy and did nothing about it.

Brad Pitt and Kevin Costner had facelifts, they look great. Tom Cruise is trying to hold on to youth and not just look like a hot older man. If he changed his look a bit, he’d look better.

They all look better than him though.

by Anonymousreply 23April 17, 2025 4:46 AM

I didn't realize it was him on those coffee commercials until someone mentioned it to me. I think it was my mother-in-law.

For such a big star he's never really been a big star. No big breakout movie role. He was good enough on ER and has done "projects" and forgettable but often profitable roles ever since.

Did I just characterize him as mediocre?

by Anonymousreply 24April 17, 2025 4:50 AM

Maybe fatherhood's wearing him out. He always seemed like a confirmed bachelor, not a family man.

by Anonymousreply 25April 17, 2025 4:50 AM

R12 I was about to say, it's William Holden just pre-table corner

by Anonymousreply 26April 17, 2025 4:50 AM

63 years old and has 8 year old twins? That would age anybody.

by Anonymousreply 27April 17, 2025 4:51 AM

Haunted by the ghost of an Italian twink

by Anonymousreply 28April 17, 2025 4:53 AM

[quote]Did I just characterize him as mediocre?

I don't think he's a very good actor. I get why he became famous, but I was surprised at how much I disliked his work in pretty much any movie I've seen him in.

by Anonymousreply 29April 17, 2025 4:57 AM

He's starring in a Barry Williams biopic

by Anonymousreply 30April 17, 2025 4:58 AM

R24 he was a leading man, but never really was a movie star. I think the only film of his that I saw is Out of Sight directed by Steven Soderbergh and costarring J Lo. They're both are very good as is the film.

Newsweek David Ansen: 'Lucky for us there are no ordinary circumstances in this smart, tasty adaptation of the Elmore Leonard novel and it gets quirkier, funnier and sexier as it goes.'

by Anonymousreply 31April 17, 2025 5:08 AM

He's 63 and doesn't look bad for his age, but I suspect he's a big drinker

by Anonymousreply 32April 17, 2025 5:21 AM

He’s morphing into Mark Cuban

by Anonymousreply 33April 17, 2025 5:25 AM

So, in order to play the character (Edward R. Murrow) correctly, Clooney had to dye his hair jet black. He also used a styling product to tame his hair a little bit – like Murrow did in the 1950s.

by Anonymousreply 34April 17, 2025 5:58 AM

Sorry, I don't see Barry Williams.

He does, however, look like he could be the lovechild of Abe Vigoda and Mark Cuban

by Anonymousreply 35April 17, 2025 6:25 AM

I don't think he is happy at all. His wife and he are not close, and that hand-me-down Batman role he inherited years back was the closest he has been to a defining role in movies.

by Anonymousreply 36April 17, 2025 6:31 AM

[quote]Biden knew Kamala would lose.

In any given week Biden didn't even know what day it was.

by Anonymousreply 37April 17, 2025 6:34 AM

I’ll never forgive anyone in Biden’s orbit who pushed him to exit the race at the juncture they did.

by Anonymousreply 38April 17, 2025 7:00 AM

Hair dye on men never looks good. Makes you look older.

by Anonymousreply 39April 17, 2025 8:00 AM

As others have noted, it's the weight loss & the hair for the role. When he lets his hair grow gray & puts on a little weight, he looks just as handsome as his dad (quite the silver fox!) did

by Anonymousreply 40April 17, 2025 8:08 AM

Living an inauthentic life takes its toll on one's health and appearance.

A camera thirsty beard who has him over a barrel because she knows his Italian secrets is also added stress. He must be drinking like a fish to have aged so poorly.

by Anonymousreply 41April 17, 2025 1:03 PM

He just lost some weight for this role and is aging. Clooney needs no redemption tour. He did the right thing last year.

by Anonymousreply 42April 17, 2025 1:06 PM

Yeah this isn't a good luck for him but it's for the role. He is getting rave reviews for the play though, it's a smash.

I'm not a huge Clooney fan but I'm hoping he's enjoying his good run at the theatre. I never really "got" why he became such a big deal other than his famous aunt.

by Anonymousreply 61April 17, 2025 3:52 PM

No man his age looks good with unnaturally dyed hair. With his natural grey hair he's still a handsome devil. That OP image makes him look like a made guy with the Costa Nostra.

by Anonymousreply 62April 17, 2025 4:22 PM

I'm not a big Clooney fan but I just read that he hated the dark hair and his family is mocking him for it and he doesn't blame them. And BTW he's great in "The Descendants"

by Anonymousreply 63April 17, 2025 4:41 PM

I disagree, r40.

Nick was smoking hot. George is just “meh”. He will never match his dad for looks.

by Anonymousreply 64April 17, 2025 4:55 PM

He should play Biden in the movie, "2024".

Zoe Saldana: Kamala Harris. Tom Arnold: Mike Walz.

by Anonymousreply 65April 17, 2025 5:20 PM

Are those his real ears? He's got a little Marco Rubio vibe going on with those?

by Anonymousreply 66April 17, 2025 6:07 PM

The ears and nose continue to grow as we age. It sucks.

by Anonymousreply 67April 17, 2025 7:00 PM

Is there a separate thread for the Italian twink scandal? I just remember hearing the twink had no helmut and was on the back of a motorcycle Clooney was driving and there was a crash and the twink died. There was no DUI test and Clooney was given preferential treatment and the entire scandal was buried under the Italian marble floor in his mansion in Lake Como. Lots of money must have changed hands. Clooney is no Amanda Knox and knows how to manage the corrupt legal system in Italy. Do I remember it right?

by Anonymousreply 68April 17, 2025 7:47 PM

Dyed black hair never looks good on old White folks.

by Anonymousreply 69April 17, 2025 8:03 PM

Was there any particular reason they decided against George wearing a wig?

by Anonymousreply 70April 17, 2025 8:07 PM

He looks 63 years old. This coming from a 65-year old. Age creeps up on all of us. I'd rather see someone who looks their age than someone who resorts to medical help to look younger; some of those people don't even look human anymore.

Many actors have dyed their hair, gained or lost weight, built up their bodies for a role. What is the big deal?

by Anonymousreply 71April 17, 2025 8:24 PM

I think it's more about him losing the weight...which, if he did it for the role, was probably not well-advised at his age because it looks like the life has been sucked out of him and he's becoming a dried-up leather bag. And we know that when Matthew McConawhatever did this, he never quite regained his looks. It's a risky business to lose weight/bulk up at an older age.

by Anonymousreply 72April 17, 2025 8:33 PM

^^lose weight/bulk up at an older age JUST FOR A ROLE

by Anonymousreply 73April 17, 2025 8:34 PM

by Anonymousreply 74April 17, 2025 8:40 PM

I think it's just because of the bad dye job. It looks so unnatural, and it makes him look really thin. I understand it's for a role, but I hope he goes back to grey after he's done.

by Anonymousreply 75April 17, 2025 8:44 PM

r74:

[quote] Robert De Niro was 35 years old when he starred in Raging Bull. The film, released in 1980...

That's a bit different from being 63 years old and bulking up/dropping a ton of weight.

by Anonymousreply 76April 17, 2025 8:45 PM

Don’t you dare compare him to Abe Vigoda! Abe looked healthy.

by Anonymousreply 77April 17, 2025 8:56 PM

by Anonymousreply 84April 18, 2025 2:36 AM

Did the years of battling HIV finally catch up with him?

by Anonymousreply 85April 18, 2025 2:41 AM

According to Google, George Clooney has: "Starred in thirteen films that have grossed over $200 million worldwide, with some of his most successful projects being from the "Ocean's" franchise and "Gravity". Overall, Clooney-led movies have generated over $3 billion at the box office."

That's amazing to me. The only movie of his that I can stand is "From Dusk Til Dawn," and that's not solely because of him. I remember the Ocean's remakes being pretty popular at the time, but they're mostly forgotten now. He’s had a lot of hits, but they're mostly popcorn films. No other actor would envy his filmography. His current appearance is a little drastic, but I've seen worse. Mickey Rourke is only three years younger than George and well...

by Anonymousreply 86April 18, 2025 2:46 AM

^ I made an error. Clooney is actually younger than Rourke. He still looks much worse.

by Anonymousreply 87April 18, 2025 2:54 AM

Scream MARY! at me all you want, but Chadwick Boseman and Michelle Trachtenberg have made me wary when it comes to snarking and joking about a celeb's sickly appearance.

I agree he looks bad. Hope it's nothing serious.

R89 And that became painfully obvious during the debate with Trump in June of 2024. The media and Democrats could no longer deny that he was suffering from cognitive decline. Even Trump seemed to pity him, and Michael Moore said it was elder abuse. And the real problem was that the Democrats refused to acknowledge it and do anything about it earlier

by Anonymousreply 108May 15, 2025 4:12 PM

Good Night, and Good Luck is a historical drama play written by George Clooney and Grant Heslov. It is adapted from their 2005 film Good Night, and Good Luck and focuses on the conflict between veteran CBS journalist Edward R. Murrow and U.S. Senator Joseph McCarthy. The play's Broadway premiere in March 2025, directed by David Cromer, stars Clooney as Murrow, making his Broadway debut.

The play received mostly positive reviews, with critics praising its themes, direction, lead performance and scenic design, though some questioned its use of projections and whether it improved on the film. The production has enjoyed strong box office returns. It was nominated for five Tony Awards, including best actor for Clooney and four design awards.

The play began previews at the Winter Garden Theatre on March 12, 2025, starring George Clooney, in his Broadway debut as Edward R. Murrow, Ilana Glazer, Paul Gross, Christopher Denham, Glenn Fleshler, Fran Kranz,[14] Mac Brandt and Carter Hudson. It had its opening night on April 3. The production is scheduled to run through June 8. Those who attended opening night included journalists and news anchors such as Lesley Stahl, Chris Wallace, Gayle King, Jake Tapper, Pamela Brown and George Stephanopoulos.

The play has enjoyed strong box office grosses, setting the historical Broadway weekly record. For the week ending May 4, 2025, the play's gross of $4,003,481.50, made it the first Broadway play to surpass $4 million in a week.
