The funniest this cast can be for us viewers, is when they do these background pose-freeze skits with the Trump cast guy talking in front of them.

This episode has been funnier than the others from the past few seasons, IMHO. Know why? The unfunny players have been used sparingly or not at all. Mostly the women. Sorry, but the current women in the cast are just not funny.

The show was one of the funniest I have ever watched in years - the only 'dud' was the gay couple (since Bowen Yang ruins just about everything). I thought Hamm looked the best he has in years. The graying hair makes him look sexy. Lizzo looks great, but I didn't like her performances.

To take this thread further off-topic, I read an article the other day about Jelly Roll dropping 200lbs. "through diet and exercise." Give me a break, I mean the guy's name is Jelly Roll for goodness' sake. I don't know why some celebs like Lizzo and JR decide to lie about their weight loss journey. It's their prerogative but it makes them look silly considering they've both been obese for years and nothing has worked for them. Like when Lizzo went "vegan" yet lost no weight. Helpful Hint: Those spare ribs are not vegan.

I think the SNL writing has improved this year and that this episode was very funny. The White Potus is one of the best things they've done in a long, long time.

I think both Michael Longfellow and Ashley Padilla are the most unfunny and boring SNL players I’ve ever seen. The show’s cast is way too huge.

The queens here complaining about how Jon Hamm is aging are nuts. Yes, he looks like a man well into his 50s, but he’s still handsome, still has a full head of hair and a strong jaw. If he’d gotten tons of plastic surgery the same hyper critical idiots would be complaining about that instead. And no comments about how good he was in every sketch he was in? He’s excellent at this sort of sketch comedy.

And it was a funny show, the funniest of the season so far.

Show was good. And while I’m no Bowen fan, he actually didn’t annoy me last night.

Also have high hopes for Ashley Padilla. She’s a really strong sketch actress. Hoping she also has some good characters.

r105: Jack Black’s gonzo anything-for-a-laugh craziness may be more to your taste, but Jon Hamm is actually an actor, and managed to amusingly inhabit every sketch he was in without staring wild-eyed at cue cards throughout as Black did.

Plus the overall writing in every sketch and even on Weekend Update was just funnier, and the political takedowns (cold open Passover/Easter sketch, “The White Potus”) were sharper and more pointed in their Trump hatred than anything else this season.

And Jack Black can’t ever play anything but Jack Black. Which may be enough for his fans, but is too little for the rest of us.

Jon Hamm is a mediocre actor at best. He couldn’t open a movie if his life depended on it. But Hamm has been sucking up to Lorne and Tina Frey for years. Waiting for Walter Goggins to host.
