Parker Posey
Born in Baltimore, raised in the Bible Belt, and educated in New York, she quickly learned how to be a chameleon through her intellect and lowkey charm.
She got her big break as Darla, the mean girl in Dazed and Confused, which led to succession of successful and quirky independent films; Party Girl, Waiting for Guffman, Clockwatchers, Henry Fool, Best in Show, The House of Yes, and The Mighty Wind.
In 2018, she wrote her best selling memoir, You're on an Airplane: A Self-Mythologizing Memoir and now she is back on top as the judgmental southerner Victoria Ratliff in Season 3 of The White Lotus.
Let's discuss the life and times of Parker Posey.

Cokes... just drive in and get a Coke, if you're thirsty.

I’ve been a fan since her Indie Queen days but have also read many ‘mean girl’ real life encounter about her on DL and elsewhere over the years. Sometimes it’s better to know about people.

[quote]The Gothams’ new award was created to honor television’s most beloved and influential performers. Posey’s recognition comes in recognition of her remarkable impact on the industry as she continues to captivate global audiences, most recently with her performance in The White Lotus Season 3.

Love her. When she played a Miss Tessmacher-esque character in the awful "Superman Returns" my question was why didn't they cast her as Lois Lane? A missed opportunity. Instead that part went to Kate Bosworth in a performance that was indeed breathtaking for a department store mannequin.

The unofficial DL rule is there can never be too many Parker Posey threads. We haven't had a good one since 2023, so we're more than overdue.

Man, I'd love if they brought Jennifer Jolie back for Scream 7 as the story supposedly involves AI and deep fakes. Hence the return of certain actors for this film. She was hilarious playing Nancy Drew with Courteney Cox.
She was wonderful in THE STAIRCASE, R14. Bye-sexsh-u-als, indeed.

I have to watch "Clockwatchers" once a year. I think it's a perfect film. And tonic for anybody who's ever been a temp.
