Public Service Announcement: Buy coffee now!

And anything else that's made or grown outside the US. Don't take chances on Trump climbing down.

by Anonymousreply 12April 4, 2025 6:03 AM

Normally this would be a joke: Guns!

by Anonymousreply 13April 4, 2025 6:28 AM

Firearms. The other side already has way too many of them.

Sorry, R13. I didn't see your post until I'd started typing.

by Anonymousreply 14April 4, 2025 8:56 AM

R13, let's hope the MAGAts buy up all the firearms and bullets and start shooting each other when they start feeling the squeeze.

by Anonymousreply 15April 4, 2025 9:03 AM

Rushing for an eight 'o clock curtain every night means giving up a lot of things - but coffee SHOULDN'T BE ONE OF 'EM!

by Anonymousreply 16April 4, 2025 9:07 AM

Citric acid for adding to booze

by Anonymousreply 17April 4, 2025 9:25 AM

Marmite and/or Vegemite.

by Anonymousreply 18April 4, 2025 9:44 AM

Shoes and sneakers.

Will chewin tabacci be okay? I’m concerned about the MAGAs.

by Anonymousreply 19April 4, 2025 11:41 AM

Tea, pasta (I guess unless you use Ronzoni) and produce

by Anonymousreply 20April 4, 2025 11:46 AM

MAGA-brand adult diapers.

by Anonymousreply 21April 4, 2025 2:55 PM

I actually did stock up on coffee, funny enough. I also stocked up on booze.

by Anonymousreply 22April 4, 2025 3:00 PM

Popcorn, to eat while watching the country self-destruct.

by Anonymousreply 23April 4, 2025 3:09 PM

One more thing - Trump has removed the de minimus exemption for China, so if you're ordering a lot of junk from Temu and Shein you can expect those prices to go up significantly too. Do your ordering now.

by Anonymousreply 24April 4, 2025 7:05 PM

Patek Phillippes

by Anonymousreply 25April 4, 2025 8:48 PM

Oh fuck! I have to order a shit ton of Lavazza!!!

by Anonymousreply 27April 4, 2025 8:55 PM

Coffee isn't an issue for me because I only drink Kona from Hawaii. Veuve Cliquot is a different matter entirely . . .

by Anonymousreply 28April 4, 2025 8:57 PM

Bullets.

Bullets can be used to barter in place of cash, eventually.

by Anonymousreply 29April 4, 2025 8:59 PM

World War Trump!

by Anonymousreply 30April 4, 2025 9:40 PM

I got in the habit of adding a batch of TP to my shopping basket. I now have enough TP fro two years.

I bought another 5lbs of rice and another batch of powdered milk.

I am solid for at least six months.

by Anonymousreply 31April 4, 2025 9:58 PM

sorry - wrong thread

by Anonymousreply 32April 6, 2025 1:03 AM

Rentboys.

by Anonymousreply 33April 26, 2025 4:45 PM

I've bought four bag of my favorite Dominican coffee. I'm afraid it will go stale before use if I order more. I've stocked up on rice, toilet paper, and paper towels. I need to pick up some detergent and dried beans and maybe some canned goods and I'll be good for a while.

by Anonymousreply 34April 26, 2025 5:16 PM

So the question is, is stale coffee better than no coffee?

by Anonymousreply 35April 26, 2025 5:24 PM

r34 Café Bustelo? God damn, I'm so jealous, can't find that shit anywhere in Europe. Hopefully I'll be able to taste it one day, somehow.

by Anonymousreply 36April 26, 2025 5:30 PM

No, Cafe Santo Domingo - It has a cocoa note that I like. I was buying Peet's Cafe Domingo, but it was usually sold out, so I looked elsewhere.

by Anonymousreply 37April 26, 2025 5:37 PM

If coffee goes sky high some MAGA type will have had enough and...."solve" the problem for us.

Who would be surprised?

by Anonymousreply 38April 26, 2025 5:40 PM

According to a forum about gay escorts:

Many guys say when they travel to Colombia, Brazil, Argentina...you can hire a gorgeous stud for $300 for a whole night. When the same stud comes to America for a few months and 'travels', they charge at least $300 and up for an hour.

by Anonymousreply 39April 26, 2025 5:44 PM

We had our new fridge delivered yesterday. I’m looking around for anything else that is likely to break in the next 4 years. I was surprised we got a good deal. Meanwhile, every time I go to a restaurant lately, 2/3 of the customers aren’t there.

by Anonymousreply 40April 26, 2025 6:33 PM

I went to PriceRIte market this afternoon. Bananas used to be 39 cents a pound. I haven't bought them in two weeks (still had my receipt in my reusable bag). Today they were 54 cents a pound. My "Fairlife' milk - when Biden was in office I was paying $3.99 a bottle (about a quart). Today I paid $5.29. And the Victor Allen k-cups I always bought there for $9.99 (last I bought was two weeks ago) is now $14.99.

Thanks Trump !
