The should have chosen a more well known Lennon.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | April 1, 2025 3:38 AM |
I think Lennon would have Imagined a world where one of the Beatles could have been portrayed by a black man. SMH.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | April 1, 2025 3:39 AM |
R1 these types of films don’t need a big star attached. These are the perfect films to cast lesser known actors in.
And Harris’s career has taken off over the last few months
by Anonymous | reply 3 | April 1, 2025 3:42 AM |
I don’t think they’re that fascinating outside of their music. I’m sure the movie will be big because everyone loves The Beatles but I have zero interest.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | April 1, 2025 3:44 AM |
Funny enough the only one I give a shit about seeing is the Ringo one
by Anonymous | reply 5 | April 1, 2025 3:45 AM |
It’s not a movie. It’s 4 movies.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | April 1, 2025 3:45 AM |
R4 But you do have some interest you unaware cunt.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | April 1, 2025 4:25 AM |
Harris Dickson is everything. I'm watching this just for him.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | April 1, 2025 4:26 AM |
Are all four in all four movies? Making one movie on each Beatle is a choice.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | April 1, 2025 4:42 AM |
meh..
by Anonymous | reply 11 | April 1, 2025 4:49 AM |
At first glance, I thought Barry Keoghan was a woman in the OP pic. An Eastern European woman.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | April 1, 2025 4:50 AM |
Who’s playing Billy Preston?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | April 1, 2025 4:52 AM |
I love Lennon and hate Keoghan, but Keoghan looks more like Lennon than he does Ringo.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | April 1, 2025 6:02 AM |
Sam Mendes truly peaked with his first film, American Beauty. Every film after that one has been turgid Oscar-bait duds.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | April 1, 2025 6:13 AM |
Harris Dickinson is gorgeous. The others are all meh.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | April 1, 2025 6:14 AM |
Resemblance obviously authenticates any biopic, and resemblance in this case is minimal. Despite the hate here, Timmy looked and sounded like Dylan, which made the film brilliantly watchable. Mendes and make-up will need to work magic to make this project believable.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | April 1, 2025 6:22 AM |
Jacob elordi would have made a good George Harrison. Barry looks absolutely nothing like ringo.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | April 1, 2025 6:25 AM |
Great casting....for another movie.
Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney??? Seriously......
Not one of them looks like the guy they’re playing lol
by Anonymous | reply 20 | April 1, 2025 7:02 AM |
Alok Vaid-Menon is in the frame to play the Maharishi.
Or possibly Brian Epstein or Linda McCartney.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | April 1, 2025 7:19 AM |

I thought it was an Asian fellow... maybe a kpop star

[QUOTE]I thought it was an Asian fellow... maybe a kpop star
Maybe he's really playing Yoko Ono?
by Anonymous | reply 23 | April 1, 2025 7:21 AM |
Harris Dickinson doesn't look "Eurasian" enough to reincarnate John Lennon.
Paul Mescal is not "cute" enough to reincarnate Paul McCartney.
Keoghan is ugly enough for Ringo, and anybody can be Harrison.
Who's being cast as Brian Epstein?
by Anonymous | reply 24 | April 1, 2025 8:26 AM |
R14 have your eyes checked
by Anonymous | reply 25 | April 1, 2025 8:38 AM |
R20 but you’re the guy who says “it doesn’t matter if an actor looks like the real person”. Anytime I’ve said so and so doesn’t look like the real person they’re portraying, you rush to say resemblance doesn’t matter.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | April 1, 2025 8:40 AM |
I’d be more interested in a series of movies covering four phases of their careers not a separate movie for each Beatles.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | April 1, 2025 10:16 AM |
Just to confirm for everyone, there will be a Ringo Starr biopic movie released before there is a Madonna biopic movie ever made.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | April 1, 2025 10:42 AM |
R28 rightfully so. Ringo was a part of a band that took over the world in the 1960s. Madonna broke out 20 years later.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | April 1, 2025 12:52 PM |
I hate all those actors except Joseph Quinn.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | April 1, 2025 1:49 PM |
When Chalamet was cast as Dylan, there was a thread about how he didn't look like Dylan. Makeup and move magic can do wonders. And as a friendly reminder, Harris Dickinson is everything.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | April 1, 2025 1:50 PM |
Timmy looked nothing like Dylan. His imitation in the dialogue scenes made that movie unwatchable.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | April 1, 2025 1:58 PM |
Keoghan looks like Amanda Lapore
by Anonymous | reply 33 | April 1, 2025 2:03 PM |
Deadline says all four movies will come out at the same time (April 2028).

Harris Dickinson should play Brian Epstein, with non-simulated sex scenes.

[quote]Making one movie on each Beatle is a choice.
The public will be Beatle-d out.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | April 1, 2025 2:52 PM |
I really hope that they are not gonna release all four at the same exact time. I remember the original plan was to release them all within a year. So one movie every two or three months. I hope they stick with that.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | April 1, 2025 2:55 PM |
Hating on the Beatles is not a personality.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | April 1, 2025 2:59 PM |
I love the Beatles.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | April 1, 2025 3:02 PM |
Each film is focused on a single Beatle but of course they all appear in each film, as all four films intertwine.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | April 1, 2025 3:03 PM |
Is there room for a fifth movie?
by Anonymous | reply 46 | April 1, 2025 3:15 PM |
This sounds awful.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | April 1, 2025 3:24 PM |
If Paul Mescal is attached we will be watching
by Anonymous | reply 48 | April 1, 2025 3:44 PM |
I can't imagine a worse cast in terms not of talent but in any resemblance whatsoever. Any!
I mean, the movie as cast could as well be about the Who, the Kinks, the Doors, Oasis, or ANY OTHER QUARTET OF MEN!
At least Rami and the guys as themselves looked remarkably like Queen (Gwilym Lee as Brian May especially).
I know, I know. My boy Austin Butler au naturele doesn't look anything like Elvis, but at least he's no fugly Irishman.
Well, this flick had best acquire the same make-up team.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | April 1, 2025 3:46 PM |
R49 NONSENSE
by Anonymous | reply 50 | April 1, 2025 3:47 PM |
All four films in theaters at the same time? Billed as a “binge-able theatrical experience”? They expect us to sit in the theater for upwards of seven hours, or buy four different movie tickets?
by Anonymous | reply 51 | April 1, 2025 3:57 PM |
I imagine they're going to film them all at the same and then do a staggered release as with The Hobbit. I don't see how they could persuade exhibitors to do a conventional release of all four simultaneously.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | April 1, 2025 4:01 PM |
You imagine? Sam Mendes said he wants all four films released at the same time. That’s what supposedly will make this special.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | April 1, 2025 4:03 PM |
Well, if you say so, r50! I do appreciate your counter-argument, though.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | April 1, 2025 4:35 PM |
Look nothing like them.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | April 1, 2025 5:06 PM |
Big stars R1? I've only heard of Barry Keough.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | April 1, 2025 5:07 PM |
Terrible casting.
I hope that Ian Leslie's new book "John & Paul. A Love Story in Songs", will inspire Sam Mendes to at least explore some sexual tension between them...
by Anonymous | reply 57 | April 1, 2025 6:31 PM |
Will Barry be using a prosthetic nose?
by Anonymous | reply 58 | April 1, 2025 6:36 PM |
Harris dickensen has the look the others not at alllllll. Especially Barry, who’s had more work done at 32 than Ringo has at 84

by Anonymous | reply 60 | April 1, 2025 9:18 PM |
R56 that’s highly unlikely as you’re on the Paul Mescal Streetcar thread
by Anonymous | reply 61 | April 2, 2025 12:28 AM |
WHO CARES ABOUT THE LOOK? This is what DL screams anytime we point out an actor doesn’t resemble the icon or person they are cast to play. DL always says “IT DOES NOT MATTER”. Now those same people keep crying.
Makeup and costumes and hair will make them resemble the people.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | April 2, 2025 12:30 AM |
R61 my comment on that thread was something like "wtf is Paul mescal?" no doubt. Seriously, I've only heard of him here. Still not sure who he is and I don't think he's that big a name therefore my comment stands.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | April 2, 2025 2:03 AM |
These musicals are played out. We need a little break from them. And These 4 fuggos can’t carry a movie about The Beatles. Barry Koeghan looks like a Down syndrome Asian. No. Just…NO.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | April 2, 2025 11:07 PM |
[quote] These 4 fuggos can’t carry a movie about The Beatles
It's FOUR movies about the Beatles, each one focusing on a different Beatle.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | April 2, 2025 11:16 PM |
Hope springs eternal, r62. There are Academy Awards right there.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | April 3, 2025 12:22 AM |
Barf, Puke, Vomit, Retch:
Sam Mendes serves bugs for Beatles and demands you watch it all four times.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | April 3, 2025 12:42 AM |
Wait. There’s an Asian one?
by Anonymous | reply 68 | April 3, 2025 6:40 AM |
Harris Dickinson sounds like a Rutle.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | April 3, 2025 6:41 AM |
This cinematic gimmick sounds stupid as all get out. I mean, I can understand the "Rashomon" aspect, but not in four separate movies, taxing our memories of scenes and stamina in seats.
How do the band associates fit in: Stuart Sutcliffe, Pete Best, Brian Epstein? Do the women appear only with their Beatle, or with all, as in the case of Yoko?
Will each movie be set in a different era: Liverpool and Hamburg; British Invasion of America; India; post-dissolution of group?
I can see multiple bio-pics about the Fab Four, but not by deconstructing their magical alchemy.

by Anonymous | reply 71 | April 3, 2025 9:05 AM |
Ringo Start was soft and sensuous looking with large blue eyes. Barry Keoghan has a big nose but the similarities end there.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | April 3, 2025 9:08 AM |
The casting’s a bit mean - Ringo Starr was always a little plain but not fucking heinously ugly.
by Anonymous | reply 74 | April 3, 2025 9:13 AM |
Harris Dickinson is such a chameleon that I saw him in three separate performances that I really enjoyed before I realized they were the same actor - Trust (FX as John Paul Getty III), Beach Rats and Triangle of Sadness. In Beach Rats he plays sexy Long Island rough trade coming to terms with his sexuality. You will get a boner.
by Anonymous | reply 75 | April 3, 2025 9:27 AM |
R75 the film came out in 2017. We’ve heard of it.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | April 3, 2025 9:31 AM |
The audience for this is either dead or old as shit.
by Anonymous | reply 77 | April 3, 2025 9:41 AM |
R77 clearly not as everyone knows who The Beatles are still to this day. They’re a band who are always relevant.
And based on how this is all viral all over the internet because none of them look like the real men, clearly people know.
by Anonymous | reply 78 | April 3, 2025 9:47 AM |
Mescal and Keough are very hot right now, of course it's all over the internet.
by Anonymous | reply 79 | April 3, 2025 10:00 AM |
R79 cool. So that means even people who aren’t familiar with The Beatles will be now. See how that works?
by Anonymous | reply 80 | April 3, 2025 10:02 AM |
r80 your passive aggressive smugness is quite unattractive.
by Anonymous | reply 81 | April 3, 2025 10:16 AM |
FOUR movies? They really weren't that interesting for four movies.
by Anonymous | reply 82 | April 3, 2025 10:16 AM |
"Rashomon, but the Beatles" sounds excruciating, and I like the Beatles. This calls for a nice ITV miniseries at most.
by Anonymous | reply 83 | April 3, 2025 11:43 AM |
Keoghan needs to wear a paper bag over his head.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | April 3, 2025 11:54 AM |
None of them look anything like the Beatles. They just look like 4 guys dressed in black.
by Anonymous | reply 85 | April 3, 2025 11:58 AM |
Looks like they just were going for somewhat well known names instead of uncanny resemblance or any other similarily.
by Anonymous | reply 86 | April 3, 2025 11:58 AM |
R76, when people are pointing out that no one knows Harris or that his career is “just” taking off, I wouldn’t assume that everyone has “heard of it” as you say when it comes to Mall Rats.
by Anonymous | reply 87 | April 3, 2025 11:59 AM |
If they can do magic with makeup, editing and CGI, then why not use the Beatles’ offspring? Dhani Harrison, Julian Lennon, Zak Starkey and James McCartney. It would be wild.
by Anonymous | reply 88 | April 3, 2025 12:19 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 94 | April 3, 2025 3:13 PM |
Didn't know half the Beatles were Irish
by Anonymous | reply 95 | April 3, 2025 7:31 PM |
It would make more sense as a miniseries.
by Anonymous | reply 96 | April 3, 2025 7:35 PM |
R94, Yeah, yeah, yeah. Let the eyes, noses, and chins begin!
My point is: Why these actors, then? Why not some random guys off the street, preferably one in Liverpool? Or, if "known actors for the Box Office" is the reason, why not BETTER-known? Is curiosity about the transformations to be the selling element?
Just spare us all the anecdotes about how, a la Austin and Timothée, each actor spent YEARS learning his Beatle's accent and instrument! And in the case of Paul as Paul, being left-handed.
by Anonymous | reply 97 | April 3, 2025 7:53 PM |
They should’ve got unknown actors that looked more like the Beatles. Instead of the same guys that are used in all the movies. Surprised they didn’t get Austin Butler.

by Anonymous | reply 99 | April 3, 2025 10:32 PM |
I want to separate this comment from the subject of the Beatles.
Thank you.
That Paul Mescal- he’s gorgeous and I love him. And I have a vacancy in my collection of imaginary perfect love/sex partners who I will never meet.
So in what films/TV productions can I see him being adorable and then having adorably sexy sex scenes with a cute girl? A trip back to my homeland ( NYC) might be a possibility, so if he’s doing B’way or off- B’way in the next year, please include that information.
Last question- do we think he’s straight? I wd feel silly lusting after a guy who’s mostly into guys, AS IF IT MAKES A FUCKING DIFFERENCE since any part of any future relationship between myself and Paul Mescal goes beyond fictional; passes ridiculous and flies straight into the planet Pathetic Dweebette.
But that’s ok. I got a tall husband, and cool kids and a large funny dog who once actually saved my life. So if I want a little fantasy Mescal on the side, who amongst us can judge me?
Probably most of you, but a large % of you really don’t care. So i’ll be leaving now.
But please, leave any PM comments you might have down below. I only have two weeks to live.*
* tasteless and not true. But what if it was? True? ( It still would be tasteless.)
by Anonymous | reply 100 | April 3, 2025 11:00 PM |
I have a question to ask about Barry Keoghan.
Have any of you ever felt an instant dislike; disgust, and/or repulsion to an actor upon first sight? And have those feelings only gotten stronger , even after a few months, years or decades have passed since you first laid eyes on this object of your lack of desire?
Well, shockingly enough, I have. And his name is Barry Keoghan.
I cant stand anything about him physically .( and yes, I know - I’m not a porcelain faced, perfectly proportioned dewy and nubile ingenue - but I am pretty cute. And Im not a public figure or actor so blah blah etc.)
Is BK inherently cringy? Does he strike anyone else as the Michael Cera of aspiring leading men? I don’t want to go into details about his face, because that would be wrong. But did his parents accidentally put his head into a hydraulic press as a baby? I’m just asking.
Of course there are plenty of other B and A list actors I don’t find attractive. But finding them unattractive doesn’t raise my hackles in any way.
But BK does. Every time I see his face, I think (among other things)” Why are you there? You’re taking a space that belongs to an actor who 1) can act and b) is easy on the eyes. You are neither of those things, sir. So be gone!”
Anyone else?

"Jarhead" kinda flopped since Jake Gyllenhaal was getting way more press and notoriety for Brokeback, which was also released during late 2005.

The Rutles film (1978) is good enough for me --satirical as fuck (and the actors' appearance didn't really matter).
The 4 movie thing sounds like shite, probably pretentious as fuck. Imagine though who they will cast to play Yoko...now, that might be amusing.
